Excellent choice of cottage. It was extremely clean and we felt right at home as soon as we stepped through the front door.

Lovely cottage. Very clean and comfortable. The people that owned it were lovely and not intrusive at all. Love their gorgeous dogs whose heads appeared over the fence occasionally to say hello. Hot tub helped make the holiday relaxing after a day on the beach. Beautiful coastline. Would recommend this cottage for a relaxing break. Not much going on in Hornsea however. We needed car to explore local area

This was a lovely holiday cottage but our short 4 day break was somewhat marred by the owners insistence that we had broken a clip on the hot tub when we had not on our first evening. The damage was brought to our attention the day after we arrived with the owner knocking on the door a 10.00 am iPad and website at the ready showing us the cost of a new clip. The owner insisted that I personally had seen the clip intact upon being shown around the property on arrival but after being shown the around the property and hot tub relatively quickly following a 3 hour journey and subsequent visit to the beach I could not say for sure that both back clips were intact at that time although I did remembered seeing a broken clip by the front door on arrival as it was where i had left my bags whilst unpacking. (being a walker I associated it with a rucksack and thought nothing of it) This was disputed by the owner who said that was not true. We had upon arrival happily handed over the agreed security deposit in cash and although not caused the damage we reluctantly and I stated this, agreed to pay for the damage out of the deposit as we were at a stalemate. The owner was insistent that the damage had been caused by late teenage son as he had seen my sons shorts outside the hot tub (drying after our single evening hour in the hot tub) and was happy to imply that my son had been reckless with the hot tub in my absence. I of course discussed the issue with my son when i next saw him who said the clip at the back was already broken when he went out to the hot tub hence the stalemate. Needless to say after that the hot tub was used once only by myself twice in all and it had lost its appeal. We left earlier than planned and were given the whole of out security deposit back with a disgruntled air suggesting "they would sort it themselves" but they still felt we had done it. I suggested I had now spoken to my son and some of the missing pieces in the earlier discussion had become clearer but the upshot was that my son had not damaged their equipment. A lovely place to stay, be very aware of your and your pets movements and the surrounding household items that don't belong to you and you will be fine but be aware they have taken money from you in the first instance, they are very aware of your movements coming into the garden 3 times a day to tend the hot tub (21 times should you stay a week) and spending the rest of your time wondering what else will come to light that you have "damaged" can put a dampener on things whilst you are there.

The cottage was well equipped, spotlessly clean and in a great location...less than 5 minute drive to seafront. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen is massive..if it were my property I would have used a bit of space and installed a downstairs loo for guest’s comfort. The cottage is attached to the owner’s property, in the back garden, with a (locked) door joining the kitchen to the main house. Entrance is through a gate and the whole driveway is large gravel...so wasn’t great for my husband who has mobility issues. I did feel a bit ‘under surveillance’ as we had to walk past the main house each time.

The cottage is spotlessly clean, very well equipped. The hosts Glen and Val are lovely, very welcoming. The hot tub is an added bonus. would recommend a stay at this cottage.

A great cottage in an excellent location - parked the car up for 3 days and walked everywhere. Hot Tub was spot on and great bar & restaurant advice from the hosts. Couldn’t fault anything.

Great holiday, nothing to not like.

A lovely cottage which was very well stocked with all the equipment needed whilst on holiday. The hot tub was a real treat at the end of every day! We enjoyed our stay at The Cottage, and found it very comfortable.

This was simply one if the best holiday cottages we have ever used - the family were so welcoming the cottage was clean warm and delightful and the hot tub just perfect- we will definitely want to book again and would recommend it to anyone who wants a lovely quiet break

Lovely clean cottage. I would have given 10 overall except the living room smelt doggy - the owners are very clear that this is a pet friendly cottage though so it's our own fault for not being animal lovers! We didn't hear their dogs at all the entire weekend we stayed. The cottage could not have been any cleaner, it was immaculate. Very well stocked kitchen. Hot tub a very welcome treat. The owners were very welcoming and went out of their way to ensure that we had everything we needed. Don't come here if you want a loud, boisterous weekend away, it's not that kind of place. There are neighbours so consideration for noise levels is important- that said, we were 3 women staying in the cottage and did not feel overlooked at all. We were left to ourselves and would all recommend the cottage. Absolutely great value for money. A real treat.

Hornsea is a beautiful town Highly recommendable. The downside of our trip was the disgusting attitude of the owners of the cottage! They bombarded us with rules as soon as we got there and were extremely rude and confrontational when we apparently stayed in the hot tub for over 2 hours! That is 2 hours for the whole day! The picture on the web site of the hot tub is very misleading The surrounding garden was overgrown and shabby and we literally backed on to a building site. The bags of dog faeces in the garden were also obviously off putting. I would not recommend this cottage to anyone and as a group of professional nurses and practitioners felt very threatened by especially the woman s attitude and behaviour! Disgusting. Totally spoilt our otherwise fabulous weekend. Don’t be put off plenty of other places to rent In a beautiful setting just not there!!! Be warned.

Amazing place to say, everything was spotless, the hosts are lovely and give great recommendations , just a short walk away from the town centre (not loads there but it’s perfect for a relaxing weekend away).

Beautiful cottage in a beautiful place! Clean, well equipped and the hot tub was brilliant. The owners were lovely and always on hand when needed. Would defiantly stay again ?
