We chose this cottage for its proximity to Fyfield where we were to attend a family wedding. We had wonderful weather for our stay and the cottage was very comfortable and well-equipped. The location is lovely, close to the Thames, overhung with weeping willows and very quiet. The nearest shop is in Standlake (2 miles away) but there are two pubs within a mile (less if you walk to them along the Thames Path). However, the Rose Revived has a wonderful riverside location but is extremely poorly managed. Over the bank holiday weekend, it had no draught beer or lager for one day, no ice at all, all week end, no fried food on one day, no meals at all on two afternoons. Back to the cottage: the bed was a very comfortable super-king-size, very comfy sofa and chairs and masses of hot water for the bath. Highly recommended. The owner, Virginia, was welcoming and helpful but not intrusive. We had a lovely time.
