We really enjoyed our recent 5 night break at the cwtch, the accommodation was exactly what I had hoped it would be, quite, peaceful with beautiful views. It was very clean with fresh bedding, towels and bath robes all spotless. The owners had left a lovely bottle of wine and chocolates for us on arrival which was a really nice gesture. The only down side was the flies, they really were a nuisance although attempts to get ride of them have been made by the owners. I would definitely recommend this property. We feel so rested after our break.

The cottage is in beautiful surroundings and is light, airy and reasonably comfortable. The hot tub was great. The down side is we were overwhelmed by flies due to the proximity of livestock. Unfortunately there was nothing supplied or in place to control the problem. Storage of food was difficult because of flies. The bed is very low with an unsupportive mattress and would suggest this is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues.

Odd, is the way I look back on our whole Cwtch experience.... To put into context, we had a three night stay here at the beginning of May, at considerable cost - for the price, for one bedroomed self-catering, you'd expect something fairly special. It is a lovely place, very peaceful and quiet, very spacious, with some really nice features, like the wood burner that heats both the main living space and the bedroom, and of course the hot tub. However, there were quite a lot of things that showed lack of care from the owners. These included: *The shelf on the bottom of the inside of the fridge door (where you'd put your milk and wine) being absent - this was noted in a review from LAST AUGUST, and was a real pain); *The hangers in the wardrobe were a mismatch of cheap black plastic ones from assorted shops; *The bathroom mirror light didn't work, which meant visibility was poor. Quite a few other lights didn't work either; *There was no handsoap of any description in the bathroom (and I note one of the gallery photographs actually suggests a hamper of products!!!); *The kitchen top mini-freezer looked like it hadn't been defrosted in a good long time, which is a bit of an issue when it's only v small in the first place; *No wood or firelighters left out for us - we had to improvise! *No kitchen roll - who doesn't have a kitchen roll in their kitchen? This isn't an exhastive list, just a selection of the ones I can remember. None of these issues of course individually is a big deal - we holiday in self-catering accomodation in the UK a lot, and know that these kind of things happen, to a greater or lesser extent. However, when you're paying top rate for a place you feel you have a right to expect more. None of the above, however, is my biggest gripe. The owners didn't come across whilst we were there (which in itself I don't mind, as [giving the benefit of the doubt] they may have been respecting our privacy). Had they done so, we'd have given them face-to-face feedback. But as they didn't, instead we left them a sheet of paper with our constructive 'suggestions' for how they could make their guests' experience that little bit better. This was just for them, we didn't put any negative comments in the guest book, or anything like that. In fact our comments in the guest book, and indeed our comments topping and tailing our list of 'suggestions', were entirely positive and complimentary. Rather than thanking us for making the effort to give detailed feedback, we heard nothing. I can only assume that the owners, and Nerys in particular, took great offence, given her subsequent behaviour...... Unfortunately, my wife left a couple of washbags, and a new top there. Not ideal, but hey, these things happen. Easily sortable, though, yes? Owners parcel them up, take them to the post office, we pay the postage. Oh no.....My (oh so polite) wife left messages, and voicemails, all unreturned (which is unbelievably rude and ignorant). Finally, a WhatsApp message finally did get a response, presumably because Nerys knew that my wife would know when that had been read (which is precisely why my wife resorted to WhatsApp!). Eventually, over THREE WEEKS after we left, and after a load of unnecessarily wasted time on my wife's part, her items were returned. Hurrah! So, to summarise, lovely cottage, but needs more time and effort spent on the 'guest experience' to justify its inflated cost. And, from our experience, rude and thoughtless owner(s).

It could be 5* but not quite there. Having staying at many 5* places this place sadly didn’t meet our expectations. A few issues that need to be resolved or improvements made: electrics not working correctly in bedroom and bathroom cabinet light never been replace (both mentioned by others previously) The plumbing there was a leak under the sink and in the shower room. The bed is very uncomfortable we actually ended up purchasing an air bed and leaving a night early. The sofa isn’t much better! They could both do with replacing a super king bed would be perfect as there is a lot of wasted space in the bedroom. There was lots of flies/ wasps/spiders (again as mentioned by others) inside the property not much can be done but never experienced it before in similar property. The “welcome pack” contained champagne and chocolates which was nice touch but would have preferred some tea coffee and milk to tie you over until you find the local supermarket. Would have also expected matching kitchen ware as there was a lot of mis matched cups plates etc On a good note the hot tub was nice with great views. Bed sheets were lovely and clean. Great broadband and sky package. Lovely Italian in Welshpool and a day trip to Shrewsbury worth the drive. We did not contact the owner as the issues would not be able to be resolved while there and felt would have intruded on our stay. From our experience the owner was friendly enough and the place could be perfect with a little TLC.

The Cwtch is wonderfully secluded and private. They have the full Sky TV package which was a treat for us. The week we spent there was the 2nd week of our honeymoon and we wanted to relax and chill, which is exactly what we did. There are plenty of places to eat out, although we cooked for ourselves as there are Morrisons and Tesco in Newtown. We used the hot tub regularly and the sauna once. We treated ourselves to a full body hot stone massage which was totally amazing - definitely recommend it. Our time their was perfect and we were sad to leave.

My wife and I spent a very relaxing week at the Cwtch. The lounge area is very big but also very cosy (I know that sounds like a contradiction in terms but it’s true!). There is a very comfortable L-shaped couch with an additional armchair. The kitchen area is off the living area and has everything you need. The bedroom is also really large with a bath in one corner. We used the hot tub every day (usually two or three times) as this was so relaxing with lovely views over the surrounding countryside. There is an adequate shower room and a utility room with additional storage facilities. As we were there in January we did not use the outside seating areas but these would be great in warmer weather, again, because of the surrounding views. The Cwtch is very secluded as it is situated down a track and away from the main farm buildings. It was unbelievably quiet the whole time we were there and we really enjoyed the peace. There is a ten minute drive into Newtown so it is easy to get to the shops to stock up during your stay. The Cwtch had everything my wife and I were looking for and we would definitely recommend it.
