This gorgeous cottage conversion, set on a working sheep farm, has been restored with lots of love and care, and is part of the ruins of a large mansion that was previously destroyed by Oliver Cromwell’s army. Set in 38 acres of farmland, which includes 12 of woodland, this is the perfect place for anyone wanting to enjoy a quiet break or those looking to explore the local wildlife in the area. There is a public footpath that goes through the working farm, great for those wanting to take their four legged friends with them. The property is adjacent to the ruins of a Tudor mansion, now a designated ancient monument.
Some fabulous walks to be had at the Kenfig National Nature Reserve with its great lakes and sand Dunes, visit Bryngarw Park with its stunning scenery, riverside walks and wild flowers in abundance. The Bridgend Designer Outlet is roughly 4 miles away and Cardiff city centre, with its excellent shopping, museums, theatres, restaurants and nightlife, is an easy 30-minute drive away.
Whatever you decide to do, come back and enjoy the sunset whilst watching the sheep and lambs in the fields, and when it gets a bit chilly, go inside and light the wood burner for a cosy night in. Beach 11½ miles. Shop ½ mile, pub 2 miles and restaurant 1½ miles.

What a lovely little cottage. Booked two nights for my partner’s birthday. John was very helpful and made sure we enjoyed our stay by checking if we slept ok etc. It was a cosy, pretty little cottage and very clean. We will definitely be back, hopefully during the cold winter nights so we can fully appreciate the log burner. John knew we were going to be late arriving on Friday and we arrived to a gorgeous and warm fire. Thank you very much John. A very much needed relaxing break.

This is a very pretty cottage in an idilic setting surrounded by farmland and woodland. The cottage was warm and cosy and very comfortable. There are woodland walks from the property and it is not far from some beautiful beaches. The pretty town of Llantwit Major is nearby and Cardiff about 30 mins drive away.

Greta cottage - really enjoyed our stay - it's small and very cost but the best thing by a mile is the beautiful location. You couldn't pick better. The cottage itself is simple, has everything you need and id perfect for a small family who want to self cater. Thoroughly recommended.
