Had a lovely time. Met the owner who was very helpful with his recommendations. Lots of dog friendly establishments around which made it easy to eat out.

A great spot on the edge of the town of Whaley Bridge. Accommodation comfortable, owners who live next door friendly and helpful but unobtrusive. Good walks right on the door step.

What a wonderful welcome from mine hosts. Cottage is fully equipped and we were sad to not have got another dog with us (ours died recently). Dogs are as welcome as humans. Garden at the back secure as well. We were extremely comfortable there. In fact we wished we could have stayed longer. Walking boots next time..... The Peak District on our door step.....what’s not to like. Only problem, for us, was that the places we wanted to visit were at opposite ends of the area. Also none of pubs in Whaley Bridge were open in the afternoon. We were blessed with good weather. Highly recommend this cottage to dog owners and non dog owners alike. Thanks Carl and Carol.

A little gem of a cottage in a great location for exploring the Peak District. Nothing is too much trouble for the owners to make sure your stay is as pleasurable as possible. Very well equipped with everything you need, tea and coffee with a pint of milk in the fridge was a lovely touch upon arrival, and the large green chest full of doggie beds, bowls and toys was a lovely surprise. Plenty of lovely dog walks right on the doorstep. The only minor issues my wife and I found, was that the mattress was a little too soft for our liking as we both suffer from back problems, and the ticking of the clock on the upstairs landing was a little on the loud side. A highly recommended little home from home for your exploration of a lovely part of the world.

Lovely cottage - very pleasant, comfortable and nicely decorated. The second floor balcony looking out over the opposite hills was very nice; roomy bright bathroom and plenty of storage space. The back garden was lovely and private. Carl was very pleasant and helpful with tips about the surrounding area. We did find the driveway a bit steep.

i had a wonderful 4 days in April, i didn't want to leave. Carol and Karl are perfect hosts, even tell you about local dog walks and provide leaflets in the cottage about other attractions in the area, milk tea and coffee were provided as well as poo bags and dog treats, on arrival i mentioned i had forgotten the dog beds, no problem, Karl opened a box and produced two beds there was also a dog bowl and ball in there. The layout of the cottage is fantastic with a wonderful little garden, to sum it up perfect hosts and perfect cottage

We had a great week at The Dog House, both Carl and Carol were accommodating and friendly and said to let them know if there was anything we needed. Being dog owners themselves they appreciated our needs and had bits, such as poo bags and dog treats just as a little extra. The weather was inclement (but can't complain, it was March after all) and we had fun exploring an area that was totally new for us. We will be back, but maybe when the weather is a little kinder.

Good welcome when we arrived. Well placed out of town but within walking distance of pubs, restaurants etc. Excellent walks for dogs with a wood just across the road from the cottage. Would highly recommend.
