The Former Chapel of Ease is a Grade II listed building, formerly the chapel of Gwynfe dates back to the 1600’s and has been renovated to a high standard in 2022. With superb stain glassed windows in all ground floor rooms - each pane of glass has a story to tell!

Located in the centre of this lovely village, the property consists of a porch area with seating where the logs are stored, then walk through the fabulous doors leading to open plan living with kitchen dining and lounge, wood burning stove and Smart TV, dining area, kitchen with electric hob and oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and wine cooler.
There is a ground floor wet room with walk in shower and shower seat, and bedroom one with double bed and en-suite wet room. Bedroom two has a double bed and there is also access via a ramp into the property through this bedroom from the beautiful rear door. Outside, there is a grassed area with seating.

Set within one of the most beautiful and secluded areas in the Brecon Beacons National Park, The Former Chapel of Ease is the perfect property to base yourself from to enjoy what this spectacular area has to offer. Up above the village of Llanddeusant sits the famous lake known as Llyn y Fan. This beautiful lake is a popular destination for walkers as it boasts spectacular views and a tranquil, peaceful atmosphere. Myths about The Lady of the Lake and the Physicians of Myddfai come from ancient times, and some people believe that the Arthurian legend of the Lady of the Lake and Excalibur stem from here.

If you’re a romantic star gazer then the first International Dark Sky Reserve in Wales, situated in the Brecon Beacons, is perfect for you. On a clear night, you can see the Milky Way, major constellations, bright nebulas and even meteor showers. It’s enough to make anyone starry-eyed. 9 miles drive will get you to the colourful, picturesque town of Llandeilo, scattered with an array of shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants. They have several festivals throughout the year including the jazz festival, and for gin lovers the Gin Festival is fabulous; It’s a delightful place to spend a few hours. Throughout the year you can watch the graceful red kite swoop down for food provided by the Red Kite Feeding Station in Llanddeusant. The villages of Llangadog is just 5 miles away and Llandovery is also within 9 miles of the Chapel. Both boast lots of lovely eateries and are recommended places to visit. Gwynfe provides an ideal base for walkers to explore the Black Mountains. Nearby are Carreg Cennen Castle sited on a high rocky outcrop overlooking the River Cennen (5.1 Miles) and The site of Garn Goch Iron Age Hill fort (4.9 Miles) which according to Alltrails is ’A particularly striking example and one of the largest iron age hill forts in Wales’. In the wider area just a short drive away are the National Botanic Garden of Wales (15.8 miles), Aberglasney Gardens (11.2 miles), National Trust - Dolaucothi roman gold mines (16.2 miles)
