The Good Shepherd Hut is located in an area of outstanding natural beauty on the outskirts of the small village of High Cross, within the parish of Froxfield.
Finished to a good standard with luxury touches throughout, a cosy wood burner for winter evenings and a comfortable double bed dressed in luxury bedlinens for a good night’s sleep. The small shaker kitchen is well equipped to rustle up breakfast or supper whether you choose to dine inside or out. With an extensive garden and far-reaching views, you will be captivated by the rural surroundings and magical sunsets.
Nearby, there is a village shop and post office within walking distance and several pubs located within a short drive. Situated in a very private, rural location, yet only 10 minutes by car from the pretty market town of Petersfield with its coffee shops, boutiques and farmers’ markets. The Good Shepherd Hut has beautiful views over agricultural land and is surrounded by sheep farms from where you will often hear the distant bleating of sheep and baa-ing of lambs! A regular sight are deer in the field, a resident barn owl, red kites, eagles and buzzards with partridges, pheasants and grouse visiting the garden. It is a nature lover’s paradise! There are miles of country lanes to explore by bicycle and plenty of footpaths connecting us to the South Downs Way.
Although rural, you are conveniently located 10 minutes by car from Petersfield with easy road and rail links to London (1 hour) and Portsmouth (30 minutes). Coastal towns and beaches are only 25 minutes away, where you can sail, paddle board, canoe and kayak in the glorious safe waters of Chichester harbour. We are equidistant to the cathedral cities of Winchester, Chichester and Guildford and the Historic Dockyard at Portsmouth. There is so much to see and do, if you can only tear yourself away from the hot tub and the spectacular sunrises, sunsets and starry skies of Froxfield!
