This apartment with its own private entrance has been lovingly converted into industrial-designed accommodation set over three floors with the bedroom being in the loft. The discreet owners who live next door have spent time restoring and showing many of the original features including exposed brick and beams throughout. They have finished it off with lightshades from a local artisan and rustic industrial furniture to be in keeping with the property. Cuxham is pretty village just 1½ miles from Watlington an ancient south Oxfordshire market town sitting at the foot of the Chilterns and on the edge of the Vale of Oxford. It has also been the backdrop for scenes in a few episodes of ‘Midsummer Murders’ and is a great area for birdwatchers to spot red kites. There are many other nearby towns to visit including Dorchester a pretty village with an abbey Thame a typical English market town Wallingford home of Agatha Christie and Henley-on-Thames a 12th-century market town made internationally famous for its rowing regatta. The historic university city of Oxford is within 15 miles. There is plenty more to do and see in the area including Greys Court National Trust Nuffield Place Basildon Park Dorchester Abbey Harcourt Arboretum the Earth Trust Centre the museum of the Aston Martin Heritage Trust and Wittenham Clumps for stunning panoramic views of south Oxfordshire.     Just what we needed. Relaxing accommodation and surroundings. The Granary has been converted to a high standard and very welcoming with home made chocolate chip cookies, eggs and milk on arrival. Would have liked to look around the gardens but no outside space available at the moment. Arrival instructions clear and easily followed. Small village but close to Watlington which has a nice pub, supermarket and independent shops. Good wine shop just off main street selling non high street wine at varying prices, worth a visit if you like wine. One pub/pizzeria in village. Very nice food and staff very friendly, be aware 10% service charge added (voluntary), locals friendly as well. We would definitely return if visiting Oxfordshire again.

    This cottage was a beautifully restored mill A lovely mix of old and modern Lots of thoughtful touches Hosts were very helpful And despite it’s remote location there is a busy pub serving Italian food less than a minute walk and no shortage of places to visit a short drive Could find no fault with anything

    Loved our second stay at the Granary, it was a pleasure to return. We always feel welcome coming here and it’s nice to get away from the usual hustle and bustle. Thanks for having us. I’m sure we will return.

    Gorgeous, highend spec cottage. A couple of miles from local village and with pub for food across the road and bus stop to Oxford outside. The only fault is that you do need to be careful in cottage as on different levels, as shown in pictures. Lovely touches from owners, milk, eggs, flowers, home made cakes, and Classic FM playing as you enter. Truly magical.
