Folkton Cottages are situated in the small village of Folkton just inland between the coastal resorts of Scarborough and Filey. All three properties are situated in a peaceful setting, with easy access on to the Wolds Way for walking and cycling. This is a perfect rural retreat set amongst a small woodland and fields beyond. Each cottage has its own private section of the gardens. The Lodge is situated the other side of the archway to Stable Cottage. Again finished to a very high standard with all mod cons, it has a summerhouse where you can sit and watch the wildlife on the pond.
Within reach you have easy access to the east coast and the North York Moors. Filey is only five miles away with its Victorian promenade and wide sandy beach, ideal for children. Scarborough, Whitby and Bridlington are also worth a visit. In less than an hour you can be in the centre of York, a beautiful historic city with lots of attractions such as the minster, the Railway Museum and the Viking centre. The vibrant nightlife in York is also worth a visit with many real ale pubs as well as sophisticated wine bars and restaurants. Bempton Cliffs is a few minutes’ drive away where you will find the RSPB bird sanctuary. Observe puffins and guillemots in their natural habitat as well as seals and dolphins. Why not take the steam train from Pickering to Whitby passing through the moors filled with heather calling off at Goathland made famous in the TV programme ‘Heartbeat’. Enjoy an evening out at the Stephen Joseph Theatre in Scarborough, famous for most of the world premieres of Alan Ayckbourn’s plays.
Whichever cottage you choose to stay in you are assured a wonderful holiday.
The Lodge can be booked with The Stable Cottage (CC244050) and The Woodlands Cottage (CC244069) to accommodate up to 12 guests.
