With stunning beaches, breath taking scenery and ancient forests all within easy reach. The loft is a modern, spacious apartment, above a popular eatery with a large outside terrace. Be sure to enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner here, or even relax on the terrace with a cheeky drink or two, perfect for a special treat when you fancy a break from home cooking. A table can be reserved whenever you wish.
Your private entrance leads you up stairs to the first-floor apartment. The open plan living space is bright and welcoming. With a well-equipped kitchen stretching out to the dining table, ideal for creating your favourite meals together as you plan the events for the days ahead. Comfy sofas are gathered around the Smart TV where you can rest after a busy day. At the far end of the room you have glass doors leading outside. From here you can look down onto the eateries terrace, perfect for people watching from above, with the blinds you can also have privacy if you wish. On the first floor you also have a twin bedroom as well as a modern shower room. Stairs lead you up to the second floor where you have the master double bedroom, as well as a second twin bedroom and a second shower room. At The Loft Apartment you have the added convenience of parking permits provided for up to 3 cars at the main car park in the village which is less than a 4 minute walk away.
The charming village of Thornton Le Dale is a delight; old fashioned friendliness with an unhurried pace of life. The village has everything you could need, yet still retains its quaint village beauty, with the chocolate box thatched cottages and historic Alms houses. The tranquil Thornton beck winds through the village, with many walking trails to follow. On the village green there’s the original stocks and market cross, where on Sundays during the summer months local bands play music to entertain you whilst you sit back and enjoy one of the wonderful ice-creams the village is renowned for.
Only a couple of miles away is the traditional Yorkshire market town of Pickering, which combines atmospheric old inns, 12th-century castle, museum, remarkable medieval frescoes in the local church, and the North York Moors Railway taking visitors on a nostalgic steam train journey through the spectacular scenery. The ancient City of York is just 26 miles away and offers the majestic minster, the fascinating Jorvik Viking Centre, the Castle Museum, the National Railway Museum, and excellent shopping facilities.
Castle Howard, setting for TV’s Brideshead Revisited, Nunnington Hall (National Trust), Duncombe Park, and Rievaulx Abbey, are just a few of the local treasures to discover. On the east coast lie the popular seaside resorts of Scarborough, 15 miles, and Filey, 19 miles, the serene fishing village of Robin Hood’s Bay and the captivating old port of Whitby 20 miles, with its Captain Cook connections, as well as miles of sandy beaches and a colourful harbour. Just a 10-minute drive away visitors can enjoy Flamingo Land Theme Park and zoo or Dalby Forest, where there is a plethora of woodland walks, picnic areas, bikes to hire and the popular “Go Ape” treetop zip lines. This is an ideal choice all year round and the National Park is gorgeous in all seasons.
