The mill was a lovely quiet get away for the whole family. The beds are comfy and the place is lovely. Plenty of places to walk and the shell folly is a must find. The best bit was grandad and his grandkids rowing round the pond. Would highly recommend for a quiet relaxing get away

We loved it here. All we would say to make it even better would be more information available on the history of the Mill. It was so interesting and brilliant to be able to explore the whole building. The owner gave us some information but perhaps putting up some framed old photos, or some info would be a nice touch. Location was great - with the freedom to explore the farmlands too. The crooked floors were great, but getting up the stairs took longer than usual as they are crooked but it just added to the fun!

Superb for a quiet break but you need to use a car to see the sites and visit the pub (walk to/from) the pub after dark is a "no-no". Stairs are not suitable the the very young, elderly or infirm. Don't expect IKEA pristine but comfortable lived-in.

What a place The Mill is! It was incredible and a privilege to stay in such an important part of history. On arrival we were unable to access the property as the previous tenants had left the place in a mess and broken several things including the door handle! However we were made very welcome by the owner and the knowledgeable cleaner! I do think The Mill would benefit from having more than one pair of hands cleaning the property after each stay as it’s a colossal place and a lot for one person in such a short space of time. Unfortunately the dish washer was not working, which was frustrating as we’d seen this was the case on a previous review and clearly hadn’t been dealt with. The only other gripe we had was the lack of “Welcome Basket”. We have stayed in many properties over the country and have been met with some super welcome packs, including one for the dog sometimes too! But when we arrived there was nothing.... it even a tea bag or milk! Very disappointing after a 7 hour drive! Other than that The Mill was fantastic! It’s a huge property that felt like home for the week. We can’t wait to return!

The overriding smell of the septic tank/cess pit which vented at ground level to the side of the kitchen and bedroom wafting through the property marred our enjoyment of this quirky property. Sadly on the hottest day of the year the windows needed to be closed. Sitting outside was equally unpleasant. Several of the soft furnishing were stained and dirty, the floor rugs too. The dinner plates were too big for the dishwasher which didn't matter as the dishwasher didn't work. Fortunately only there for a short break with family.
