Really enjoyed our stay. The location of the house was perfect. I didn’t need to use my car at all.

Perfect property for our stay in York. Within walking distance of shops and restaurants. Very clean & warm. Home made cakes for our arrival - lovely touch. Would stay here again

The Old Coach House was the perfect location for our stay in York, just outside the city walls, only a few minutes walk into the city centre. The cottage was a perfect size for 4 of us, with a lovely cosy lounge and dining area and 2 good sized double bedrooms. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would book here again if we were to visit York again, thank you!

The location of The Old Coach House is fantastic. We parked the car on arrival and could walk everywhere after that. It is well equipped, with comfortable bed and powerful hot shower. We didn't use the cooker as we ate out most days but there are shops fairly close, Tesco/Sainsburys. We managed to see a lot of the main attractions and would recommendthe Jorvik centre. Unfortunately we probably could not stay again as dogs are not allowed (they stayed at home this time) but otherwise we would have stayed again. It was great to have a car parking space and the area was very quiet and peaceful. It would be lovely to sit outside in the warmer weather.

The cottage’s main “plus” is it’s close proximity to the city centre(a few minute’s walk) and it’s own parking space. It is a very warm and cosy cottage. The cakes and milk provided were a nice touch. The sofa and chairs are reasonably comfortable. However, the cottage is rather tired. The kitchen is great, but the bathroom , although clean enough is very dated and needs a complete refurbishment. The carpets and rugs need replacing or cleaning. The bedding needs replacing, as the duvet is very lumpy, and feels “old”. The outdoor seating area could be made so attractive with a little TLC.

A perfect place to stay to explore York. Cafes and restaurants are less than 1 minutes walk away. The Walls are on your doorstep. You can leave the car and not worry about parking. Everything is so close at hand.

This was a charming little terrace house, clean, really comfortable, easy walking distance of the Centre ... so why is my overall rating only 5? The kitchen step. I didn't see it. I know it would spoil the look, but hazard tape on the edge is a must. I joined hubby towards the end of the week so didn't see the tag on the key safe, nor do I look up very much being a bit wobbly on my pins, so saw not much else than the tiled kitchen floor when I kissed it. My knees took the brunt of the fall and almost four weeks on am still in great pain and discomfort. For those who take the time to read and/or bounce more than I do nowadays, this is a lovely place to base yourself or just to "be".

Great location. Good size parking at the front. Only drawback was having a downstairs bathroom & no toilet upstairs. Would happily stay there again. Only 2 minutes walk to shops & eating places. Great location for the York Minster & wall walks. Our kids were pleased with the WiFi. The sofa was very decent. Lounge is much bigger than the photo impression. Could do with more modern bedding.
