Getting away from it all is what great British holidays are all about, and surrounded by splendid Devon countryside in its own beautiful walled garden, The Old Coach House is a perfect escape. The owner has thought of everything to make guests’ stays comfortable and special - every guest even gets their own fluffy dressing gown and slippers, and an extensive welcome pack is provided for both you and your dog!
There are many places to visit close by, including Seaton Tramway which operates narrow gauge heritage trams between Seaton, Colyford and Colyton in East Devon’s glorious Axe Valley. The trams travelling alongside the River Axe estuary pass through two nature reserves, and give an unrivalled view of the abundant wading bird life. The property is situated between Colyton and the pretty village of Northleigh with its 13th-century church. The historic town of Colyton is 2 miles away, with picturesque, narrow streets and has a town square with a range of local shops, pubs and restaurants. The ancient market town of Honiton is 4 miles away with a wide selection of shops, railway station and access to the A30 and M5. There are street markets on a Tuesday and Saturday and regular farmers’ markets. Honiton is noted for its lacemaking and pottery, and an abundance of antique shops line the main street. The Old Coach House is ideally situated to explore the Jurassic Coast, and is a short distance from Beer, the picturesque fishing village in East Devon. The ancient seaside town of Lyme Regis in Dorset is also a short journey away; you can enjoy the beautiful beaches, excellent restaurants and visit the historic Cobb or fossil museums. Other stunning coastal towns nearby include Budleigh Salterton, Branscombe, Charmouth and Sidmouth. Within 5 miles you can enjoy watersports, fishing and horse riding. Beach 5 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 3 miles.
