A very comfortable, well equipped cottage. We liked the little touches of fresh flowers and a bottle of wine. It had a marvellous collection of books and information on the Lake District and we enjoyed reading them. Good to have phone/I pad charging points and clear phone signals. We wished that one of the plugs could be used for shaver and toothbrush charging. Altogether we had a splendid week, despite the weather and we would certainly like to return another time, possibly in another season.

This was the first time that we had booked a dog friendly cottage and couldn’t have picked a better one. The location was superb, not too close to the town centre but within easy walking distance. It is also very close to spectacular walks around the area. The apartment was spotlessly clean and the modern kitchen and bathroom perfectly complimented the character living room and bedroom. The bath (in addition to shower) is perfect for a soak after a long days walking. The living room is equipped with a new TV with plenty of channels, together with board games etc to keep you occupied. Whilst it rained for a lot of the weekend (not completely unexpected in January in the Lake District), we were well equipped with the basket of doggy accessories thoughtfully left (by Nadia) in the porch. The abundance of heaters also meant that the apartment was cosy throughout. Chris, one of the owners, also went the extra mile to help us track down and retrieve some food items which we had mistakenly left at the property and which had been removed by the cleaners. We would definitely recommend the apartment to anyone thinking of staying in the area. We are already looking forward to coming back at some point in the future.

We have been staying a The Old Coach House for many years due its location, with walks onto the fells and into beautiful Grasmere from the door. A vast garden with deer and red squirrels to be seen added to the attraction. The new owners have made stunning improvements, modernising it without losing the charm of the old building. It is far better better equipped than many other holiday lets we have stayed in with thoughtful touches that certainly make it a home from home. Everything provided is top quality from the furniture, soft furnishings, kitchen utensils etc. I was impressed by the thoughtful addition of a dog supplies box in the porch along with coat warmer/boot dryer wrack. I enjoyed topping up the bird feeders with the seed etc supplied and spent a rainy afternoon watching them. Christmas decorations and the bottle of wine also very welcome. The Old Coach House is a beautiful, cosy appartment in a stunning location.

What an enchanting and comfortable apartment. By far the best selfcatering accommodation we have stayed in. With an extra 'thank you' for providing a vegetable steamer, over and above... We hope to return soon.
