A beautiful cottage in a quiet village. Lovely views of the hills and river for walks.

Really pleased with the standard of accommodation. Kitchen equipment was like new and an excellent range of utensils, pans etc. The views from the windows at front and side are wonderful. Julia the owner was very easy to contact and dealt with queries promptly. The local restaurant Riverside was a real bonus ,efficient staff and a lovely conservatory dining area. Local walks and beaches were a treat. It really is a beautiful area. Good to see so many wild flowers in the hedgerows. We were 3 generations aged 2-73 .

Everything about the Old Gatehouse is excellent! We had a few days away with 2 other families and came here on a whim. We all agreed that everything about the accommodation and the area is excellent and that we will definitely be returning here again. The cottage itself has amazing views of the surrounding countryside. It is clean, well looked after and well equipped with plenty of good quality kitchen ware and furniture for 12 (if not more) people. There are 2 great pubs within 5-10 min walking distance with amazing quality food that is not over priced. Other amenities are located in a neighboring town that is less than 10 mins away by car. If you like walking in the countryside there are plenty of routes that can be taken straight out the door. The children particularly enjoyed the seaside town of Aberdyfi which has an amazing sand beach and clear waters, and great ice cream parlours too of course.

The house was in a fantastic location but the house itself does require some TLC. The render was coming off the house and blowing onto the cars and the house itself needs a really good clean. Everything felt a bit grimey. When searching for a lost dummy we pulled back the sofa and the dust was shocking! Also the handrail was sticky going up the stairs. This is the only thing that let the house down. Other than that it had all the space we needed.

We had a full house for the week with both adults and young children and all thoroughly enjoyed both the property and surrounding area. the house was toasty warm and the beds were incredibly comfortable while the outside area just right for us. The walk up the hill to find play areas in the woods was a great adventure for the children.
