Perthshire lies in the heart of Scotland and The Old Kirk is very centrally located for exploring the local area and Scotland’s biggest cities. Dunkeld is only 6 miles away and offers a good selection of shops including a deli butchers greengrocers grocery shop newsagents post office and a number of specialist boutiques. Dunkeld and neighbouring Birnam have a huge amount of history with the Birnam Oak the only survivor of the wood that played a significant part in Shakespeare’s Macbeth thought to be nearly 1000 years old the Birnam Oak now stands with its lower branches resting wearily on crutches. The Beatrix Potter Garden in Birnam tells the storey of the author and her life in the area whilst over in Dunkeld stands the magnificent Cathedral close to the banks of the River Tay. Pitlochry with its Festival Theatre Explorers Garden and good selection of shops and restaurants is only 10 miles away. The area is well known for its spectacular scenery and there is no better way to explore than by walking on one of the many forestry tracks and way-marked trails. And for the more adventurous there are a number of Munros mountains over 3000ft within an hours drive. The great outdoors has much to offer in Perthshire especially Aberfeldy just 7 miles away with water sports fishing golf horse riding cycling and off road sports available locally. If you fancy a day out in the city Perth is just a 30 minute drive with Edinburgh Glasgow and Inverness all within 1 12 hours. The Old Kirk is a perfect base for exploring the Perthshire area and beyond. " https://img.chooseacottage.co.uk/Property/720/840/720500.jpg CC524008

The house was a great size for my family. The living room took a long time to warm up due to it being such a large space. The bedrooms and bathrooms were warm. We had 3 cars between us and we could only park 2 at the house, we had to park the 3rd car round the corner from the house. Great garden outside and with it being enclosed was ideal for us as we had our dog with us. I would happily stay there again.

Great location, as feels quiet and quite remote, but in reality very close to A9 so easy to travel to and from. Cottage is large, so plenty of room for a big group, and bedrooms and bathrooms naturally split into two separate areas so would be great for two families who are sharing. The only issue we had was with the heating. As the living space is very open it can feel slightly chilly, but the bedrooms are way too hot, which makes sleeping uncomfortable. However, don't let that put you off as it's a great place to stay - this was our second visit!

Wonderful property and we really enjoyed our stay. Would benefit from two modern showers. The TV was over complicated to use and a instruction book would have helped. Netflixs saved the day and was a bonus with lack of other channels available.

Lovely old converted church with vaulted ceiling and stained glass windows. Huge living space, well equipped kitchen, 2 bathrooms and 4 bedrooms. Under floor heating kept the place warm, plenty of hot water, excellent WiFi, smart tv and Bluetooth speakers provided.

We really enjoyed our stay in The Old Kirk: a beautiful, recently renovated old church, located in a peaceful area. The cottage has a well-equiped kitchen, comfortable bedrooms and multiple sitting areas. It made us feel really at home. Really worth visiting!
