We visited The Old Rectory last week and, once again, had a thoroughly good time. The cottage has a very welcoming atmosphere, whichever season you visit and it never takes us long to settle down as a family and feel at home. We always look forward to our time there, as there are walks, outdoor activities right on the doorstep, and accessible routes to get you further afield if you so wish. The location is stunning. If you are looking for a relaxing base from which to explore The Lakes, this is the cottage for you. There is always plenty of room in the cottage so it was ideal for getting together, or finding your own secret space. The owners have worked very hard to make sure they have thought of everything clients want for a lovely getaway destination. Thank you again for sharing your home with us. We were sad to leave but look forward to our next visit in the non too distant future. Bernadette.

Beautiful house and very well appointed. Would have liked to have spent more time in the house but we were unable to resist the fabulous walks near by, so were often out. Bed was very comfy.

The best family cottage we have been too. Beautiful location and a fantastic house. The children loved the garden, they did not want to go anywhere else. The Snooty Fox just around the corner is a very nice pub, serving good food and very good beer.

Beautiful house, well equipped although the dishwasher was very small. Good position for walking the Northern Fells and handy to have a pub and an excellent cafe in the village. The farmer's wife next door was very friendly and we went to milk the cows and feed the calves (highlight of the holiday for the grandchildren). It's the second time I've been and I'm already planning a third. On a practical note, the shower door came off its runner. I phoned the Cumbrian Cottages office and it was fixed the next morning. Excellent service.

We were all keen to revisit The Old Rectory last weekend, as we have missed being there. The cottage could not be faulted and was as warm and welcoming as ever. The location is beautiful, whichever season you visit the cottage; we were lucky enough to get some snow this weekend, so the family had a great time making snowmen! The cottage is a very special place to unwind, whatever age group you fall into. If you love the outdoors, nature at its best, with a lovely cottage right there in the package, we suggest The Old Rectory. You I’ll not be disappointed. Thank you for letting us share your home once again. See you again in summer. Bernadette.

Absolutely superb place. Housed 7 of us no bother at all, plenty of space so didn’t feel cramped. Brilliant kitchen and bathrooms. Is a rural property but a 15minute drive you’re in towns with ample amenities. Would recommend to anyone looking for piece and quite retreat, 10/10

Our weekend at The Old Rectory was lovely. Despite the wintry weather, the house kept us snug and warm. We came earlier in the year and had such a great time, we couldn’t wait to see the beautiful surroundings in all its Autumn spleandour. Everything was clean and welcoming, just as it was earlier in the year. We had an unforgettable family break, which will see us through to next year. Thank you for allowing us to share your lovely home once again. We would surely recommend the cottage for the future.

The old Rectory is a lovely holiday home. It is very well equipped for a large family, we felt there was nothing missing in the kitchen area. The bedding is of very good quality and the beds comfortable. We are a family of 8 adults together for a birthday celebration and we all had a wonderful time. I would like to thank the owner of this lovely home for sharing it with us. I would definitely recommend this place to others.
