However, Huntly, which is 10 miles away has a wider selection of supermarkets and cafés, here you will also find Huntly Castle and Golf Club. Sitting approx 3 miles from the property, is the stunning Leith Hall Garden and Estate, take a tour around this National Trust for Scotland attraction, visiting the historic house or wonderful gardens. The Ardmore Whisky Distillery is located in the nearby Kennethmont with many others located in Dufftown, which is within easy drive of Clatt.
Walkers will love this area with many walking routes available nearby. Enjoy the forest walks and local wildlife at Bennachie. Hike up to the Mither Tap with fantastic views over the North East or enjoy the Bennachie Visitor Centre which is open during the summer. The village of Alford is approx 8 miles from the property and provides a fun family day out. Whether you want to visit the Heritage Museum, Ski Centre or Grampian Transport Museum, Alford really provides a great choice for everybody. For serious snow sport enthusiasts, the popular Lecht Ski Centre is reachable in under an hour by car. The town of Inverurie, with its cafés and shops lies approx 17 miles from the property. With a trampoline park, bowling centre and swimming pool, it hosts activities for all ages. The stunning north east coastline is easily accessible from The Old School House, in particular the sandy dunes of Balmedie and the wonderful and popular Newburgh Seal Beach are certainly worth a visit. Golfing is a huge pastime in this area, with many courses near by, including Trump International which is set just outside Aberdeen.
