Skiing is available in Glencoe and Fort William. 9-hole golf course and cycle route nearby.     The Old Store is a very cosy and comfortable cottage. Stunning view on the lake and mountain. There are a swimming pool with sauna , jacuzzi and a fish restaurant just 2-3 min drive from The Old Store. Also behind the cottage there is a asphalt road for walking , cycling , running with interesting views. Short drive to Ben Nevis Range, Fort William, Fort Augustus.

    Lovely holiday cottage. Brilliant location right opposite the loch - excellent views from the bedrooms and the wonderful conservatory. Even though it’s on the main road you don’t really notice the cars as it’s not a constant stream of traffic. The garden is amazing with lots of spaces to explore plus lots of seating areas. The cottage was warm and all bathrooms and the conservatory have under floor heating which warms up quickly. Central for many of the main towns and visited centres -30 minutes from Fort William, 40 minutes from Oban and 15 minutes from Glencoe . The house is well equipped for all that you need . The only essential thing that is missing is a dryer or a clothes horse which would have been handy with the wet weather ! The 3 bathrooms are great if you have a big family ( one shower being a wet room being easy access for people with mobility problems ). From the garden you have access to lovely walks over the hills at the back. We took 3 big dogs and there was plenty of space for them inside and outside the house and the garden is fenced off and safe for them. On the day you leave it’s a 10am departure time and 10am means just that ! People are waiting to come in and clean so be ready !

    We were a group of four adults staying at the old store. Overall I have to say we had a fantastic time it really was home from home. Everything except tea towels and toiletries were provided. The downstairs extension/bedroom and ensuite bathroom were ideal as I have walking difficulties. The garden is fully fenced off which was great for our dogs. The dining room and conservatory are an excellent addition to the house. Especially in the evenings when you're watching the beautiful sunset. We went fishing on the jetty across the road and caught Pollock and Mackerel. There is no getting away from the fact that the old store is on a busy road, after a while you kinda don't hear it, but because there is no double glazing you certainly hear it in a morning in the upstairs bedrooms! The only few negatives,would be that we felt the settee and chairs in the living room are uncomfortable and in need of updating, the wet room shower needs regrouting and the hob, oven and extractor needed a better clean before our arrival. The Old Store is a fantastic place and I would be happy to return, you will not be disappointed.

    This was our fourth visit to The Old Store. We love it. It is exceptionally well equipped and is a real home from home rather than just a holiday let. The views from the property are amazing, especially if you can visit in the summer when the sunsets are spectacular. The lay out of the property works very well for us as my parents in law can have the downstairs room with ensuite and we can be upstairs with the children. The conservatory is fantastic.

    Whilst the weather was typically Scottish, the house and the location were superb. As it is designed as a family house, rather than as a rental property, the attention to detail is very good. The conservatory is excellent and the underfloor heating in there and in many parts of the house make it very cosy underfoot and keep the general temperature at a pleasant level. The garden is fascinating to explore, and with access onto the hills behind the house, it is very convenient. Apparently you can get to the Holly Tree hotel along the cycle way on the hill, although did not do this ourselves. I would NOT recommend walking along the road as traffic is sometimes heavy and fast. The road is quite busy and a bit noisy despite double glazing downstairs, but only during the day. The garden is ideal for eating out and relaxing, with tables and benches and raised lookouts, when the weather is good, but not so much in October! The 'Welcome Pack' received in the post prior to arrival was a nice touch, and very informative. The only downside was the beds and attendant duvets. All the beds are singles and the duvets only just cover them, so we regularly woke up to find they had slipped partly off. At least one double bed would be appreciated somewhere in the house. Overall, however, it is a great house, in a great location and no neighbours. Thoroughly recommend it for any size group. .
