Our third visit to The Pottery, we love the area and it's ideal location. The new owners have only been in a month, the cottage is clean and comfortable but the decor is tired and needs a good sprucing up to get it the standard they would like.

    out of 10

The Pottery had everything needed and a really comfortable bed, but it felt a little neglected as it smelled very musty when we first went inside. Some parts of the cottage needed attention, socket in the bedroom not working, light bulbs missing, broken washing up bowl and other small gripes, outside area was a little sad, the decking and garden furniture was well worn and garden needed weeding and grass cutting, BBQ was rusty and brambles had taken over one corner of the seating area. With a little attention it would be a great holiday base, but currently it looks like owner has lost interest.

The property has been sold and, therefore, it needs some work being carried out.

As per the previous rating the owners are currently waiting to move and I think the ratings given reflect this. There were a few things which needed rectifying, grass not cut, plenty of weeds, towel rail continuously falling off etc. However, these were small inconveniences, we had a great time, its a lovely village and the actual accommodation size and location were spot on for us.

4th stay at the pottery, comfortable cottage in a quiet village location. Local shops, pubs & restaurants only a short drive away, including fish & chip shop!!

We have been to this area several times but the first time at the Pottery. It is just outside Cubert but in a much prettier location but still within easy walking distance of the facilities there. The beaches in this area are to die for and within walking distance over Cubert Common - a glorious primrose covered area with stunning views. We had the most glorious weather and were able to walk on the coastal footpath to both Perranporth and Crantock and the short drive to Fistral beach enabled us to watch some wonderful surfing with the added attraction of free parking on the esplanade road. Parking charges in Cornwall generally are exorbitant - The centre of Newquay was £10 for the day! We were surprised when we got to the Pottery to find the property had been sold and in fact the owners should have moved on that day but the sale had been delayed. It was clean and nicely decorated but does need some work - the taps in the kitchen and the drain cover in the shower cubicle have seen better times and the toilet took some flushing on occasions. Bit of a struggle to get the microwave working because a lot of the writing has worn off the front so trial and error on which button to press but these are minor things that new owners will undoubtedly put right. On the plus side this is a very spacious property and the bedroom is huge. Comfortable bed. There is off road parking but beware you have to reverse down a very long drive between two buildings to get out - wasn't wide enough to enable us to turn round our Audi A6 The decking is tired and needs a complete renovation. We felt the current owners had lost interest - not surprisingly since they were waiting to leave. The previous reviews talked of lovely welcome packs but for us this consisted of a packet of biscuits on the table- no small container of milk in the fridge and no tea bags or coffee. Didn't matter but doesn't compare with other properties we stayed at. Location is everything for this holiday let which was the most important thing for us.

A lovely little cottage with a very welcome hamper waiting for us in a nice quiet corner of Cornwall with easy access to some stunning beaches and walks , the dog was worn out ,and would recommend to anyone

Myself and my partner stayed at the pottery in January 2019 for 4 nights and had a lovely time in Cornwall.we choose the pottery for its location/price and it is a nice place to stay.it is dog friendly which is a bonus and has a double and single bed in the main bedroom so if you have a young child it’s ideal.the property doesn’t have a tumble dryer or dish washer but i wouldn’t say that’s a draw back if your out most of the day exploring Cornwall.they do have an air dryer in the property.the wash facilities are very good and good outdoor space and you have your own parking spaces/and it’s off road parking.spoke to the owners and there very friendly and answered any questions and catered for are needs.the only thing I would highlight to the owners is to have some form of draught excluder for the front door/maybe a curtain.overall very-were happy and would recommend the property.

We stayed over Christmas and arrived to find cottage decorated complete with Christmas tree. Garden was ideal for dogs and plenty of local walks to tire them out. Very comfortable bed and so peaceful. Would definitely stay there again

Great place to stay, very clean & great location. The local area was lovely but it also wasn't too far to do some days out to other places such as the Eden Project. Perfect for a family of 3. Lovely welcome pack including cake. Including the little things like soap & washing up liquid also made a real difference. If we are heading that way again The Pottery will be a place we would look to stay at again & would recommend to friends.
