Great cottage for two.Quiet yet in the heart of the interesting heritage sites of the area. Wonderful views from the rear windows and a large atmospheric garden. Our hosts cold not have been more welcoming and helpful. The only issue is access through a working farm and rough track. All in all highly recommended.

The cottage is located beyond a quiet farm, just outside Cromford. The village is within walking distance. The cottage is primarily heated by a log burner in the living room, with additional mini electric heaters. Staying in early October, we needed the heaters as well as the burner. The cottage is well kept, but suffers from an uncomfortable bed, which is also not suitable for tall guests. Checkout on leaving day is a disappointingly early 10am, with the owner keeping a close eye on every bag we packed into the car. (Is this normal when staying in cottages?) This was our first experience of staying in a holiday cottage and we didn't enjoy being accused of taking bathrobes that were later found by the owner - she had "forgotten to put them out". Yes she apologised, but it puts you off visiting again.

What a shame this cottage is just let down by the owners it's cold and your expected to by more wood for the fire if you use the logs left for the 1st night. It's not very clean in fact its got lots of cobwebs. Stained bedding. I was not able to get on the Internet so I don't think it's got it. If you do go to this cottage I hope your in a 4 by 4 as the lane is so bad my wife hit a stone with a smash I'm talking the car to be checked this weekend to check the sump. Believe me you can not see how bad the lane is in the dark. If I'm honest I would of gone home the fist night. But we was seeing friends over the weekend. This place in the right hands can be a magical cottage but it's just a money making seem with no though for you. Stay away.

We had a wonderful, relaxing week in this nice apartment. A great place for excursions to the peak district or for running from our doorstep.

Probably the best cottage I have ever rented. Sarah (the owner) was amazing, showed us everything and even installed a new cot for our baby. Amazing location, out onto a field within a farm and on the edge of the Peak District. Literally was just the best 4 days I have spent in any cottage.

The secret cottage ....what a hidden gem....set behind a working farm ....with the most beautiful view ....a warm cosy cottage with lovely furnishings and a wonderful log burner. The cottage is equipped with all you need, the bed was so warm and cosy the bathroom large with a wonderful bath .....The kitchen ...modern and functional. The cottage is located near matlick and minutes from the heights of Abraham. Near the canal where we walked and ventured up Middleton tops ...just perfect in every way.

Love this place, there is so much wildlife to watch out the window and so much to see and do locally, with some very good places to eat also. There is everything you could possibly need in the cottage and it is warm and welcoming.

Lovely cottage and location we really enjoyed it. We would have preferred to have paid a little extra for unlimited logs as shopping for logs in bad weather was not what we expected. Other than that all was good.
