We had a holiday from heaven! The Sheiling was everything that we had hoped it would be. Comfy, cosy, charming, idyllic and welcoming. It’s remoteness might not appeal to everyone but for us it was perfect.

Sat on top of a salmon fishfarm ,trout in the loch with parasite lice on them. Cleaning nets on the private beach and contaminating the estuary. Overpriced no spare linen and accepts no responsibility to anything happening to its customers. NO meet and greet and no farewell goodbye.....Will never return to the shielings. No marine wildlife and very few land wildlife only rabbits but these are deterred from garden

The Sheiling is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the view. It’s cosily furnished and has got everything you need. OK, there’s no dishwasher, but as the Sheiling is solely for two people, the dishes are easily done in the sink in no time... Anthony, our host, was great! He gave us a very warm welcome and provided us with information about local amenities and things to do. Even though he was away for the second half of our stay, he was always approachable, when we had any questions - not that we had that many: We had a really great time at the Sheiling, just sitting on the porch and enjoying the view. The house is located in a way, that you are totally by yourself, which was exactly what we were looking for. Nonetheless, by car you get to a tiny but well stocked shop in a few minutes and the stunning cliffs at Neist Point are only a good 15 minutes’ drive away.

Very good accommodation. It’s a shame that there is no clothes washer-drier or dishwasher and no internet! Lovely views and a gorgeous setting.

The Sheiling is a beautiful and cosy wooden lodge overlooking Loch Dunvegan with a view of Dunvegan Castle on the other side of the Loch. Comfortable and well equipped with everything you need for the perfect holiday away from it all. The nearby village of Glendale has a Post Office, village shop and the wonderful Cafe Lephin which provides a super tasty lunch and homemade cakes. You could just about walk it to Glendale but it is a bit of a trek so we recommend a car. It’s a lovely walk through Antony’s ‘garden’ down to the pebble beach but you need a reasonable level of fitness and decent boots to make it down there and back up again! So peaceful and a really magical place to relax and unwind.

We had a wonderful time :-) After Months with lots of Work etc. we were able to relax in our holiday at the sheiling. The Cabin is so cosy and comfy that we didn't have to worry when the weather was bad. Then we spend our time with cooking, reading and playing cards. The accommodation is well equipped with everything you need and is located next to Anthony's Gardens, where he plants vegetables. He was very friendly and we felt in good hands. We would love to come again :-) Thank you so much for this beautiful place!

The sheiling is our happy place, we love it here, the views are outstanding, the host Anthony is very friendly and always on hand if we needed anything, we can not fault the place, unfortunately we had to leave half way through our holiday for personal reasons, so will be looking forward to going back again next year, the Sheiling is very romantic and cosy. The log burner makes it extra special.

The cottage was more remote than we had envisaged, and being in our ‘golden’ years’ we found the terrain rather challenging, as we had not experienced life in rural areas of Scottish islands before, therefore we chose not to drive at night. Having said that, the cottage was delightful - warm, comfortable and well equipped, and our host was very helpful and friendly. The location of the cottage above the loch was gorgeous, even though we did not enjoy the best of weather sadly.
