This charming shepherd’s hut is set just outside the village of Otterburn, only 1.3 miles from a lovely village store stocked with everything you would need for your well-deserved break, and the local pub serves highly acclaimed food. Nearby Bellingham, 9 miles away, has more amenities and a golf course. The surrounding villages and towns all offer Northumbrian hospitality at its very best and you can be sure of a warm welcome wherever you go.
Make sure you take a trip over to Hadrian’s Wall, steeped in history and peppered with Roman forts. For water sports enthusiasts, mountain bikers and walkers, Kielder Forest and water park is easily reached, as is the Kielder Observatory, set in an Area Of Natural Beauty and perfect for star gazing (booking needed). Northumberland has been voted the best county to visit in the British Tourism awards in 2018, with its stunning golden beaches, International Dark Sky National Park, Hadrian’s Wall, hills and moors, there really is something for everyone. A day trip to the beautiful Heritage Coast should not be missed, where you can call into Bamburgh Castle and walk along one of the most photographed beaches in Northumberland.
