Sit back and hear the rolling sounds of the Irish Sea whilst enjoying the outstanding sunset sipping your favourite tipple. The Shillies is a detached bungalow that has been a family home for over 40 years, seeing generations enjoying the calm and ultimate peace and quiet that this area has to offer. The Shillies has also undergone total renovation. Coulderton is a coastal village situated in Cumbria and is located just to the south west of Egremont and just on the outskirts of St Bees. A lovely peaceful location right on the beach. We had a great family holiday for a week with 3 grown-up children.

This cottage is a rare find the only downside the access from the road is just gravel full off pot holes. But if your visiting just to stay put relax and chill it's a must. Breathtaking views..clear night sky's ... and wow you'll never see a sunset like the one from your front door at the shillies ...sea view from lounge window is amazing.all facilities are top notch even down to pots and pans. .the price may put people off but believe you me this cottage was worth every single penny ..this property is 3 bedroomed we only needed 1 and was still worth it..it might be worth a mention that the residents to either side of the propety were so hospitable and i felt sad leaving as they were so friendly and helpfull.. regardless to access or location..only rated this lower as we like to go out everyday and night so this meant driving down the pot holes in the road at least twice daily..but even so what a gem...would still visit again.

This place was amazing. So peaceful and beautiful. It is slightly remote but this adds to its charm and the feel of ‘getting away’. All the neighbours were lovely and we had an amazing stay. We will definitely return and couldn’t recommend highly enough.

This is the second time we have been to the Shillies and this time we had a 2 year old and Grandma with us aswell as our dog. The cottage was absolutely spotless. It's so important with a little one who picks up bugs easily. The shed at the back was full of everything we needed for our little girl and games inside too for the cold and wet days. It was also luxury for the adults and our dog was safe and secure in the enclosed garden. The location isn't ideal for everyone as you need to drive out to the shops, but we know the area well and love being in the peace and quiet and especially being right on Caulderton beach and so close to St Bees. The neighbours are lovely and we were also fortunate to meet family of the owners of the cottage who were able to give us the history connected to the cottage and the area. It really is a very special place and we have some wonderful memories of our holiday. Thank you:)

The cottage was lovely but really not suitable for older people. The drive down to the cottage left a lot to be desired. It was very well equipped but the wooden floors were more than a challenge for our greyhound with his long legs.
