Surrounded by open farmland, this adorable traditional cottage is less than 2 miles from Porthgwarra Beach (a famous filming location for the BBC’s Poldark). It is superbly located for ramblers, romantics, beach lovers, bird-watchers, golfers and city escapees seeking some serious R&R. Cosy and welcoming, Smithy Cottage sits in a roadside position next to the friendly owner’s home. Once inside the accommodation is completely private, self-contained and designed with couples and families in mind. As you enter into the living/dining room with rug topped wooden floor, exposed beams, wood burner style electric fire,2 sofa’s , good books, games for adults and children and a delicious welcome basket on arrival. Continue along the hall to a modern fitted kitchen with cookware gadgets aplenty and a pristine shower room. There is a bathroom on the first floor, if you prefer a post-ramble soak in the tub, and two comfortable bedrooms including a double and twin dressed with pretty bed linens. The decked patio garden at the rear is well screened from view, sheltered and ideal for al fresco meals. Follow the garden path and through a secure gate to a pretty pond which is lovely to sit out next to whilst the children feed the resident ducks, after a day exploring the coast . When you are ready to explore the surrounding area you will find The Minack, an open air theatre which is built into the cliff face and overlooks spectacular Porthcurno Beach, is within a ten minute drive. Sennen Cove is very close and provides good surf, a pub, beachside restaurant, ice cream parlour and art gallery. Head along the coast road to buzzing St Ives for a day of browsing boutique shops and galleries or sampling the freshest of fish in the harbourside restaurants. The lively towns of St Just and Penzance with more galleries, shops, restaurants and pubs are also within a short drive.
