This detached residence was designed by Sir Joseph Paxton, best known for his design of the Crystal Palace. The Spa Chalet is an unexpected sight gracing the Spa Bridge at the gateway to South Cliff’s Italian Gardens. Boasting uninterrupted views of the beach, sea, and harbour, this Grade II listed property is a landmark in Scarborough and it is now available as a luxury holiday getaway, where you and your loved ones can experience the holiday of a lifetime. The property boasts five glorious bedrooms, each beautifully furnished with a period feel, as well as five bath/shower rooms. The tasteful interior design has no expense spared, ensuring an opulent, comfortable stay. The living area is open plan and has a fabulous, well-equipped, modern kitchen; the dining table and sofas are surrounded by windows, giving you incredible sea views. There is also a separate snug with an atmospheric gas stove, ensuring you have a cosy evening – even when stormy seas are crashing just yards away from your window.
The Spa Chalet is an historic home captured by many artists on canvas and described in Victorian times as ‘having the finest views in England’. There are certainly none better of Scarborough’s South Bay than from the balcony. The property offers all year-round luxury for guests who demand the best and seek memory making majesty. As an added luxury, why not treat yourself to a soothing dip in the spa pool or unwind in one of the four sauna rooms? You can also keep trim at the fully equipped gym. These benefits are included in your stay at no additional cost at the nearby partner hotel, just a 5-minute walk away.
Scarborough is a wonderful seafaring town that has delighted visitors over the centuries. There is a host of attractions to visit, with plenty to entertain the whole family. Test your swing at Scarborough North Cliff Golf Club, or if you time it right, listen to some live music at Scarborough Open Air Theatre which is one of the biggest in Europe. There’s a host of local heritage to be discovered at the medieval site of Scarborough Castle and history buffs will enjoy a visit to Rotunda Museum, dating back to 1829, and displaying exhibits about geology, archaeology and fossils. The oriental gardens at Peasolm Park are inspiring, with paddle boats on the lake through the summer months.
Jump in the car and head further afield to the nearby town of Filey and take the scenic stroll around Crescent Gardens, beautifully maintained with colourful flowerbeds and offering views across the coast. There is also the RSPB reserve at Bempton Cliffs where you can see thousands of nesting sea birds, including colourful puffins, for nature lovers. Thrill seekers can spend the day amongst the treetops at Go Ape Dalby, exploring the forest canopy via an exciting rope course whilst avid adventurers can tackle the trails of the North York Moors National Park. There is a great choice of attractions nearby sure to delight the whole family all year round. Beach 50 yards.
