Lovely location. The Stables provided excellent accommodation and was very well equipped. The Hiscotts were very welcoming and helpful. We had a very enjoyable few days and thoroughly recommend this as a place to enjoy the countryside and be able to go and see the surrounding sights which are plentiful.

Stayed at the stables with three generations from 62 too 1. Found the property idea for our stay with the grandchildren loving the farm. The owners of the property couldn’t do enough to ensure we had a great holiday, to the point when the microwave died on us, the owners had a replacement with us in around 30 min. We will definitely be returning to the stables as one of the nicest holiday property’s for our large family in have found in the area

Lovely cottage, perfect for a large group. It was well equipped and homely and I’d certainly recommend it. The owners went out of their way to make us welcome. The cottage was surrounded by beautiful countryside with plenty of options for walks from the cottage.

We had a wonderful time at the Stables. There were 14 of us plus a dog, 2 x Grandparents, 3 x Parents and 6 x Grandchildren. There were lovely walks across the farm and we could feed the pigs and see the cows being milked. Dorset is a beautiful county with many lovely resorts to visit, which we did but we could easily just have stayed on the farm with plenty of space for the Grandchildren to play.To wake up in the morning and look out over the beautiful landscape was fantastic - nobody wanted to go home. The hot water and central heating were a bit hit and miss sometimes but we were never cold and the log fire of an evening was a super bonus. We try and have a family holiday every year and this is one place that we would love to go back to.

We had a family weekend at the cottage in February and had a great time. There was plenty of space for our group of 8 adults, 2 children, 2 babies and dogs. The owners were very accommodating and friendly (the Victoria sponge cake was very tasty). Everything we needed was provided. There are good walks direct from the property and many more locally. There are small village shops within a few miles and a pub a couple of miles away, but if you need a supermarket it’s a trip to Dorchester. The setting is beautiful and a small stream runs across the attached paddock. The trade off for the lovely countryside and peaceful surroundings is having to drive along single track lanes shared by tractors and lorries to get anywhere (unless you’re a serious rambler) but that didn’t spoil it for us. We would highly recommend.

Would I return, probably not as we like to explore different locations. Would I recommend The Stables - ABSOLUTELY, 100%. We spent a truly memorable Xmas week here. A lovely property in a lovely location. Sufficiently remote yet close enough to "civilisation" (Dorchester!!!). Our whole family, myself, my wife, our 3 children, their partners and our six grandchildren aged 16months to 12 years. The kids loved watching the cows being milked and feeding the pigs. The whole team at the farm made us feel extremely welcome and pretty much gave us free access to the whole farm. The walks around the farm provide some wonderful views, especially if the weather is fine. The lovely cake awaiting our arrival also doubled as a birthday cake for our eldest son. So, anyone reading this please treat yourselves to a stay at The Stables. I would be very surprised if you were disappointed in any way.

The Stables was perfect for our family get-together and we really enjoyed our stay there. The property was spacious, homely, and well equipped and we would definately stay there again - possibly a bit remote for many people but we didn`t mind that as it gave us a chance to see surrounding countryside and villages and not far to the coast.

This wonderful accommodation is definitely rural. Farm based; the owners invited us to walk around the farm, view the calves, or visit the dairy to watch the milking taking place. Gorgeous, easy walks directly from the farm to the top of the hills to enjoy views of the surrounding countryside. There is a pub in Plush, a 1.5mile walk away, that served good food. Take a torch if you are walking, there are NO streetlights. The yard provided plenty of gravel-free parking for 14 motorbikes, so there would be plenty of room for several cars. The property itself is warm and clean, and very well equipped. The lounge has plenty of seating, and a log burning stove which was easy to light. There is a ready supply of logs outside too. One of the best places our group has stayed in. We loved it.
