Berwick-upon-Tweed offers restaurants pubs and a theatre. Alnwick and Bamburgh Castles coastal and hill walks cycle routes sea angling fishing and boat trips in easy reach. Newcastle and Edinburgh within an hour’s drive. The property is a great family holiday base and has the benefit of a bathroom as well as a shower room with a double shower. The outside area of the property has a large covered patio area with outdoor sofas and dining furniture perfect for alfresco dining.     Had a great time. The sitting out area with BBQ is really very good, we spent most of our time outside. The supermarkets in Berwick are easily accessed for shopping, though I would recommend the butchers in Coldstream. The house information book recommends Cheswick beach with a small car park at end of road then a short walk through the dunes to the beach. this is not such a short walk as a long uneven hike, very difficult underfoot and with a very high dune before reaching the beach. You can't manage any of this "short walk" with a pram or any other mobility equipment, nice sands but no facilities! However we did enjoy our holiday, the house was great, though could use some waste bins in beds and sitting rooms and perhaps a nest of tables in the sitting room, somewhere to put your drinks.
