Great location for discovering the local beaches , the harbours and wonderful walks along the coast. The house will make you relaxed from the moment you step inside, it has amazing views and it contains everything you need to refresh and recharge yourself. Don’t forget to try the fresh fish at the shop by the harbour, and the Portsoy Marble shop has some wonderful items on sale. Looking forward to a return visit.

We fell in love with Portsoy and the White Ship from the moment we arrived. It's a truly magical place. Beautiful harbour and stunning coastal walks from the doorstep. A warm and genuine 'make yourself at home' welcome rather than a list of 'house rules'. The cottage has bags of personality and character and the views of the sea from almost every window make it very special and supremely relaxing. There is not much by way of restaurants in the village for eating out in the evening, but you can pick up freshly landed fish from the harbour shop for home cooking.

We had a wonderful time in Portsoy and the White Ship was an excellent and very comfortable base for our holiday. The cottage is large and well maintained with all the amenities you could wish for. I have only one minor issue. I'm 6'1" and the doorways in this property aren't. So if you're like me - develop a stoop or you'll soon develop a bruise or two. No matter how many times I hit my head on the back door frame it didn't get any softer. My wife eventually tacked a dishcloth to the top to warn me to stoop - she also developed a wry grin each time she heard me go "Ouch (expletive), not again!". I was beginning to wish I was 5', like her, towards the end. She had the best time ever - lol. The views from the front of the property are to die for and sunsets behind the Portsoy dolphin quite spectacular. The property has wi-fi and reasonable internet speeds, which allowed us to catch-up on our preferred TV programmes in the evening. Reception from EE mobile is sketchy inside, unless on the top-floor. Outside it's a bit more consistent. The Shore Inn just along the harbour wasn't serving food during our stay - sadly, but the staff are welcoming and the beer selection is good. The Station Hotel, on the main street, is quite good for food, apparently, but we didn't get chance to try. The Chinese takeaway, just a little further along the main street, opposite the mini-supermarket is very good; we enjoyed our meal from there immensely. All in all, the White Ship has afforded us one of our best Scottish holidays and Portsoy and the short walks along the clifftops either side are excellent, highly recommended.

A lovely house packed with the owners treasures ,books etc, of far away places. The situation is fantastic being so near to the sea and the old Harbour. Although the weather was mixed we were able to sit in the garden. Lots of things to do especially the whisky train

Wonderful quirky characterful comfy house, gorgeous location (you can hear the waves in the harbour from the sitting room!). We had a fabulous week with our four children exploring around, everyone had a wonderful time and we will definitely be booking another stay! The ice cream shop in Portsoy was a marvellous lure too, much sampled by my small people
