Enjoying a sought after residential location in a conservation area, close to the golf club and just a 10-minute walk into the centre of the historic market town of Kendal, The Woodstore offers stylish and comfortable accommodation ideal for families and friends seeking their perfect South Lakes escape. In years gone by, horses would carry logs through the town into the The Old Woodyard where they would be stored in what is now a fantastic holiday cottage. Today The Old Woodyard has been transformed into a small and exclusive development of modern mews style houses, nestled around a private courtyard offering designated parking so that guests can enjoy all of the town’s amenities without having to negotiate town centre traffic or worry about parking charges.
The Woodstore offers bright and spacious accommodation laid out over two floors. On the ground floor you will find three beautifully presented and comfortable bedrooms, the master of which has its own en-suite shower room with toilet. The family bathroom is also on this level. A central staircase leads up to the first floor which comprises a modern fitted kitchen with breakfast bar, separate utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer, a separate dining room and a magnificent living room with plenty of comfy seating, 50" flat screen TV and feature windows that let the light flood in. Patio doors from the living room open up onto a furnished decked balcony, ideal for enjoying your morning coffee or a glass of wine as the sun goes down. The spacious landing also has a lovely seating area for those who prefer a quiet read to watching TV. The propety also benefits from easy access to the surrounding fells (5-minute walk). A 10-minute downhill walk will take you into the medieval market town of Kendal with its cobbled streets and riverside walks.
Regarded as the southern gateway to the Lakes, it is the ideal base from which to explore the Lake District National Park as well as the Yorkshire Dales National Park which are both within easy driving distance. Should you wish to take a break from driving Kendal also has a great public transport network with buses and trains. The town offers a great variety of shops, supermarkets, bars, pubs, cafés and restaurants so you will certainly be spoiled for choice if you like to eat out. Kendal is a very vibrant town and hosts many events and festivals throughout the year, making it a place that you will want to come back to again and again. Beach 14 miles. Shop 220 yards, pub 330 yards and restaurant 400 yards.
The Woodstore can be booked together with The Old Woodyard (CC129285) to accommodate up to 10 guests.
