Fathers day retreat aka The big build. Arrived and met by owner, no real enjoyment shown just informed that he intends closing down in September also plumber maybe on site and may need to turn off the water. Three trades a day arriving from 0800 to1700 to work on owners adjacent property, owner not present during build of bathroom.  Good money paid for rural retreat not building site. Sometimes unable to use garden for relaxation or let the dogs stretch their legs as workman present. Not workman fault, the owner shows total disregard for the holiday cottage being rented during this week and obviously just wants the rental money. The area and local amenities are fine, but will not book again due to owners lack of regard towards customers requirements.

An ideal location if you want a complete break. I took my 2 dogs and there are some great local walks and a lovely old local pub within walking distance.

We have just had a fantastic f ew days at Thyme Cottage in this lovely village. Apart from going to the local Chequers Pub for a meal and then to Tesco for some milk (2 miles away) we never left the village as there were so many great walks to do with the dog. If you need shops Watton is just 2 miles away. Can't wait to return to this idyllic location.

Thyme cottage was comfortable & cosy although quite spacious. Bed was comfortable. We loved it & would go again. The only disappointing things where there wasn't a DVD player this is the first cottage I have stayed in that didn't have one & when it's cold & wet it's nice to watch a film. Also some cottages do welcome packs & some don't so it is not something that is expected, but this stated in the features that it provides one but it didn't.

We had a great stay .the local people were lovely . The only down side to the holiday was it was supposed to be a secure garden we have a lurcher and it got out through a hole in the fence.we never sore the owners once you pick the key up from a key lock at the cottage and leave it there when you go.having said that we did have a good holiday.
