This is the best holiday house for us. For a cosy family holiday in the Highlands.

One of the best cottages I've stayed in warm cosy and there was everything you needed

The cottage was good. A great size, especially the open plan living/dining/kitchen area. The bathrooms were good and hot water was plentiful, with 6 of us showering every morning. There was a good supply of cooking implements. The down side was the mattresses on the beds, which were too soft and badly sprung, leaving many of our party with sore backs. Also a lot of the crockery was chipped. The location is wonderful with lots of walks from the house. This was ideal for our 2 labradors. Overall we had a great time, but would only return if the mattresses were changed.

Timaru is a lovely, spacious cottage which is excellent value for money and I would recommend it to others. Cleanliness was good except for the 2 fridges which I cleaned on arrival and there were a few chipped dishes. The location although not entirely private was ideal for us.

Timaru was an excellent cottage for our big family - well equipped and spacious although I’d have liked a washing line/tumble drier! There is an airer in an upstairs room where the hot water tank is so washing did dry there in a few days. A great base in a lovely location. Rosemarkie is a lovely village very close by. Weather wasn’t great but plenty to do around about. 30 minute drive from Inverness where there is lots to keep kids entertained. The owners were very helpful and responded to any queries. Very clean with exception of inside of fridge and microwave which needed a wipe. Otherwise faultless!

A lovely house, modern and fully equipped with everything we needed. The location was excellent for us to explore the highlands, it is short drive to the sandy beach at Rosemakie and Chanonry Point, where we were able to see Dolphins everyday.

Enjoyed our time at Timaru and whilst the bungalow is cosy and fully equipped there were a few niggly points. Previous visitors had commented on the lack of mirrors for example in bedrooms and we would reiterate that . The bedroom chest of drawers in two rooms had broken or no handles, towels with holes and leaking shower head in the main bathroom were a few of the minor issues. We also felt that the location wasn't as private and secluded as described, owing to the property being one of around six leading off the track.

We absolutely loved our stay at Timaru. We felt comfortable from the moment we arrived and it is a huge cottage with plenty of space. WIFI was really good, managed to stream TV at pretty high quality which was great as I could keep up with live sport etc on my Sky App. Although the marble in the floor mentioned in previous reviews is not ideal, I certainly would not let this deter you from booking. We had a small toddler with us and just covered it with pillows and quilt and with the living area being so huge there was still more than enough room for us all and for her to run around! Walking around the local farmland was lovely and we were made very welcome when we met the family (owners) while walking around and we all fell in love with the animals there. It was also lovely to walk around with our daughter who also enjoyed seeing the animals. The horses looked pretty happy to us too! Thank you for a lovely stay, sure we'll be back!

Nice cottage just a few things would have made it a 10 - handle broken, fridge/freezer didn’t seem to work properly and silly slate thing in middle of floor - someone will break toes on! But as I said silly wee things! Thank you

The cottage is set in a beautiful location with lovely views across the water and is only 20 minutes from Inverness, Ullapool and the west coast is around an hour away. There were one or two snagging issues which was disappointing but in general the cottage was warm and comfortable. Sadly one of the bathrooms wasn't operational and clearly hadn't been useable for a while. A little more attention to detail would have improved our experience.

Very comfortable and clean accommodation, and yes would/will return, but a little maintenance required here and there. Having said that it is a lovely spot and so much room in the house. Thank you.

Perfect for a weekend to get friends & family together.

The cottage was in a good setting with scenic views. It had good sized rooms unfortunately let down a bit by the shower not working in room up stairs and tv in largest room having cable wire broken so no signal if you were wanting to watch anything. Also unit had handles missing from the drawers making it difficult to use slightly disappointing but didn’t dampen our experience
