We had a great stay at Townend Farm. It is a truly unique property in a beautiful location. It took us a couple of days to get the hang of the Rayburn and heating system but that's all part of the fun. Really good, Dog friendly, pubs in Great Asby and Ravenstonedale and excellent walking straight from the back door.

A wonderful cottage in a remote location. Of all the cottages we have rented over the years this one comes top of the list. Full of charm and character, comfortable beds, quirky bathrooms and very efficient central heating.

A wonderful home away from home with fantastic original features and furnishings in keeping with the house. Absolutely loved the larder. Stunning views at the back across the fields, I could have stood gazing across for hours, so peaceful. Only comments are, agree with another rating that there should be some hanging space in the feature room, there needs to be more detailed user information especially for the Rayburn for those not used to cooking on one, and tenants if using the open fire should clean it up property afterward - whoever was there before us left a huge pile of ash under the top grate which took us a good 20 minutes of our own holiday time to clear up. Aside from the points above, would most definitely stay again.
