One of two beautifully converted stone barns, The Linhay, sits adjacent to the owners’ home, and is set between the picturesque villages of Altarnun and Polyphant. This “upside-down” cottage combines mellow stone walls and old beams to create a warm and welcoming environment. The large double-aspect living room with wood burner and views over the garden is the perfect space for relaxing after a day exploring the local area. The spacious farmhouse style kitchen/dining room is well-equipped with everything you need to whip up some fantastic holiday feasts. A high-pitched ceiling, beams and exposed stone walls all add to the cosy feel in this cottage, whilst the patio doors opening onto the garden add extra light. Two twin rooms and one double bedroom make this accommodation perfect for family or friends to get together. Finally, two bathrooms mean you will never be fighting for space to get ready.
The holiday cottages have an elevated position overlooking an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and provide an excellent centre for exploring the coastal paths and moors of both Devon and Cornwall. The Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan and several magnificent National Trust houses and gardens are within easy reach, as well the fascinating seaside villages of Boscastle, Tintagel, Port Isaac and the food capital of Cornwall, Padstow. An Ordnance Survey walk passes right by the cottages and the area is a walkers’ paradise. The historic market town of Launceston, 5 miles, offers supermarkets, shops, a castle and sports facilities. Plymouth and its many attractions is 25 miles away. The area has a growing reputation for good pubs, restaurants, farm shops and locally produced food. Admired golf courses, fishing, horse riding and cycle ways can be found nearby. Shops and pub 2 miles.
The Linhay can be booked together with Stable End (GTN) to accomodate up to 10 guests.
