    We had a pleasant stay at Troy and were very lucky with the weather at the end of September. This meant we were able to use both the pool and hot tub on a daily basis which was a highlight of our holiday. The house is well situated to be able to walk into Walberswick and Southwold and other towns such as Aldburgh a short drive away. The property is very spacious but slightly dated in its furnishings and the house currently has a ‘for sale’ in situ. The ‘Welcome to Troy’ file is not very welcoming as it contains many instructions/ orders written in CAPITAL letters which felt like they were being SHOUTED and described all eventualities that would occur additional charges which inhibited out ability to completely relax. On arrival the property was clean but in some areas of the bedrooms and bathrooms there were cobwebs and insects. The equipment in the games room had seen better days and was a disappointment as the state of the dart board and pool table meant both were unplayable. One area to note that if you are bringing a dog the garden is not enclosed and this provides a challenge to keep them safe. We were not informed that the laundry services and pool maintainence would be visiting during the week. On both occasions these men did not come to the door and wandered into the rear of the house which surprised us all and upset our dog as he is anxious around strangers. Prior notification would have meant we could have managed this situation better and would not have felt our privacy had been invaded. Having paid a similar price for other properties over the last few years we were disappointed in the quality of Troy and the lack of personal touches such as a Welcome Pack. However non of this detracted from us having an enjoyable family holiday

    Unfortunately the pool was unusable and did not get clear until the end of the week so we didn't get our swimming done. We all enjoyed the place and slept well in the quiet of the surroundings but mid September may be better than full season around there as so many houses are rentals. The house has a 'for sale' board on it so it is unlikely we shall stay again.

    This was our second stay at Troy, and we love the location. The house works perfectly for us and the three young grandchildren live in the pool! We will definitely come back again in the next few years.

    Fabulous spacious, beautifully equipped house. Loads of space everywhere, all tastefully decorated and furnished. Beds and linen very comfortable, we had everything we needed for an annual culinary, fun reunion. This is our 17 th year and this property is the best so far!!
