Bursting with charm and character, this delightful, cosy property is ideal for for couples. Ty Gwenno adjoins the owner’s historic country house. It was built around 600 years ago and would have once been part of the servant’s quarters! The wing is completely self-contained and enjoys its own delightful courtyard garden, nestled in a lovely, rural location, just a short drive from the traditional seaside resort of Criccieth, with a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants, and of course Criccieth Castle situated on the rocky headland between the two beaches. The country house sits in a quiet hamlet of properties that have been converted from the former barns that surrounded the house.
Ymwlch Fawr is in a perfect location on the western fringes of the Snowdonia National Park and makes a great base to explore the magnificent mountains of North Wales, along with the gently rolling countryside of the Llyn Peninsula. There are many wonderful walking opportunities and a fine selection of golden sandy beaches close by. Just 6 miles away is the harbour town of Porthmadog, the departure point for wonderful steam train journeys on the famous Ffestiniog Railway and also the Italianate village of Portmeirion, which is the location of the cult TV series, The Prisoner, and the art and music festival, Festival Number 6. A myriad of exhilarating outdoor pursuits and water activities are all close by along with, fishing and horse riding. Beach 2¼ miles. Shops, pub and restaurants 2 miles.
