The nearby market town of Llangefni has all the essential shops you could need to pick up some fresh produce, as well as a selection of bars and The Nant Y Pandy Nature Reserve is also here, a wonderful spot for a romantic picnic with 25 acres of wooded valley to explore, and an abundance of wildlife and history to uncover along the way. There are many special beaches to visit within a short drive such as, Red Wharf Bay, a designated nature reserve which attracts an abundance of birdlife and is bordered by salt marshes and sand dunes.
Newborough Forest beach is also nearby, one of the most important red squirrel conservation sites in the United Kingdom. The forest backs onto a Bue Flag beach, you can walk from here on to Llanddwyn Island (Ynys Llanddwyn), a magical place, located at the far end of the beach near Newborough Warren. The famous stepping stones can also be found here. This special island of Anglesey has 125 miles of coastline to explore, and you’ll be spoilt for choice along the way for which beaches and famous sites to visit. There are miles of coastal paths to explore where you can take in the magnificent scenery whilst spotting the local wildlife.
You are just a short drive away from all the island’s famous sites. You can take a boat trip at certain times of the year to visit Puffin Island! The Rib Ride boats also run from various locations across the island for most of the year and offer a fascinating insight into history and the local wildlife.
