The holiday cottage is 4 miles from Great Torrington, where you’ll find shops, pubs, cafes, a public indoor swimming pool, tennis courts and sports hall, The Plough Arts Centre showing live music and movies and of course RHS Rosemoor and Dartington Crystal. The stunning beaches of the North Devon coast are 12 miles away - with great walking, sailing, fishing and a sandy beaches good for surfing at Westward Ho!, Saunton Sands, Croyde Bay, Putsborough and Woolacombe, as well as lofty cliffs and headlands along the rocky fringes of Hartland. Lots of activities for friends and families nearby including activity parks, golf, horse riding, shooting, cycle hire and walking.

The popular Tarka Trail can be accessed locally and provides the unique opportunity to follow a disused railway line on foot or by bicycle allowing you to enjoy some of Devon’s finest countryside and river scenery which will take you through places like Fremington Quay & Yarde with their excellent cafés, Instow with its estuary beach and view towards the lovely fishing village of Appledore through to Bideford, Barnstaple and beyond. For a day with a difference why not take a trip across to Lundy Island, home to England’s first statutory Marine Nature Reserve due to its unique flora and fauna? Measuring just 3 miles by ¾ mile, this entire island has been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest and trips regularly depart from either Bideford or Ilfracombe. The beautiful moorland areas of Exmoor and Dartmoor are also within easy reach and if course Lynmouth and Lynton. This location provides the perfect base for a leisurely and peaceful holiday, with many coastal, woodland and moorland walks in the surrounding area and many local places of interest to visit such as Clovelly. Exeter an easy drive away, so too is Bude and other Cornish attractions. Beach 12 miles. Shops 4 miles, pub and restaurant less than 2 miles.
