    Four miles south of Hawkshead and midway between Coniston Water and Lake Windermere lies the small, quiet village of Satterthwaite.     Great holiday home with a really nice cottagey feel to it, built from local slate and with wooden beams across a number of the ceilings. Three good sized bedrooms, could easily accommodate six people - the main bedroom with four poster bed is particularly spacious and has lovely views of the meadows and hills beyond. Kitchen dining area is very attractive with lovely views to the back garden. Very well equipped cottage, we self-catered on most evenings without any difficulties. The lounge room is very pleasant to relax in though the television remote controls can be a bit difficult to work. The only major hassle was the parking - the Wain Garth parking space is tight, on a steep downward slope towards the garage and you are trying to pull out in to a narrow lane with the wall of another cottage directly opposite.

    Really excellent little cottage in a fantastic location. Deceptively spacious inside, lovely kitchen/dining room. The wood burner was lovely. The master bedroom was gorgeous, with stunning views. Only marked down slightly as on booking there was a £10 charge each for highchair and cot, so we took our own, only to find them there anyway.
