This charming retreat has been loved and curated with care by the owner and is full of personal hand-made touches. Both chic and cosy, this is lived-in luxury, with style that has very much been driven by the nature of this building. Think artfully decorated nooks, fairy lights, artwork, embroidery, period touches and beautiful stripped floorboards.
The entrance at the back of the cottage takes you into the lovely walled courtyard garden, something of a sun trap and perfect for your morning coffee and evening gin and tonic alike, with evening lighting from a mains point. Next you will be greeted by a hand-crafted, bespoke wooden kitchen which leads to the lovely cosy living room. On the first floor you will find a lovely kingsize four-poster bed sitting in a room that also boasts blackout blinds and a Smart TV. Here you will also find just about the most indulgent bathroom you have ever bathed in. Resplendent with a hand painted fresco and featuring a roll-top bath and a separate shower unit, it is the perfect place to soak, relax and unwind in. The second floor has the twin bedroom, which also has a flatscreen TV. All the bedding here is Egyptian cotton, linen or hemp , typical of the owner’s intention that every stay should be very special, something that is very apparent in all the touches throughout this magical retreat.
The location too, could not be better as you are just footsteps from some great places to eat, drink and shop and minutes from the picturesque quayside where you can watch the pretty little boats bobbing on the tide. This whole area has an abundance of lovely things to see and do but many guests park up for the week and just stay in Wells itself, visiting the wide sandy beach and just pottering around the artisan shops and cafés.
