Well maintained cottage with a lovely decking area. Armathwaite is a pleasant village with two decent pubs serving good pub grub, but a little away from the 'touristy' areas of the lakes. The owner Robin was very helpful and extremely welcoming

well positioned and equipped cottage.Spotlessly clean .Many interesting places to visit for regular visitors to Cumbria,we found this part of the Eden Valley relaxing scenic and completely new to us. Robin very informative on arrival. On a personal note we think a choice of lighter duvet for summer.

Lovely cottage in a great location, but we knew where were going. Armathwaite is a nice village, very quiet in lovely countryside. Two reasonable village pubs and a well stocked village shop something of a rarity these days. Whirligig cottage is ideal for 4, nicely finished and clean, our only criticism is that the beds were rather soft for us, but that's personal preference and they might be fine for other people. If you have a Sunday morning free, walk up to the station and visit the preserved signal box. Beware, the Duke's Head doesn't open on Mon & Tues despite it's sign saying open seven days a week!

Our family of three had a fabulous time!! The cottage was so cosy and clean! Robin and Gwen were lovely on arrival and we had a great chat with Robin! Such an interesting man! We would definitely come back again. The village and surrounding areas were so picturesque and we did lots of beautiful walks! We enjoyed playing the board games and looking through the books. We had such a wonderful break and were sad to leave!!
