This wonderful, contemporary, ground floor apartment is ideal for those who enjoy exploring Whitby with its picturesque harbour, cobbled streets, independent shops and the famous Whitby Abbey and church. Whitehall 1 is situated in a fantastic location with private parking and just a short walk away from the bustling heart of Whitby, on the Yorkshire Heritage Coast. The apartment is equipped with everything you could need for a long or short stay, with an open plan living, dining and kitchen area, a kingsize bedroom and Karndean flooring throughout. There are communal grounds surrounding the property boasting some lovely areas to enjoy the stunning views over the marina, harbour and abbey, as well as the occasional steam train passing by on the far side of the estuary.
North Yorkshire is a haven for walkers and cyclists, and many walks can be accessed from your doorstep, including the Cleveland Way, a riverside walk along the River Esk and a lovely coastal walk along the Cinder Track between Whitby and Scarborough, via Robin Hoods Bay. Whitby has so much to offer all year round and is a very popular place to visit with its many festivals and events, such as the Folk Festival, The Whitby Regatta and the bi-annual Goth Weekend. There is a large selection of pubs offering live music, good food or a quiet drink, quaint antique and gift shops and famous fish and chip shops nestled amongst the cobbled back streets and main shopping areas. There are many pretty resorts dotted along the coast including Sandsend, Runswick Bay, Staithes and Robin Hood’s Bay which are great for exploring our maritime history including Captain James Cook, smugglers and pirates. There are watersports, surf schools and even whale watching trips to be found along the coast.
Whitehall 1 is also the perfect base for exploring the North York Moors National Park and the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Travel by steam train into the heart of ’Heartbeat’ country, or take a fishing trip out to sea on one of the many boat trips that leave the harbour. The Cleveland Way snakes along the coast and is a must for those who enjoy the great outdoors. Falling Foss Waterfall, Roseberry Topping and Sutton Bank are just some of the natural beauty attractions in the area, whilst the medieval walled city of York is just an hour’s drive or train ride away with its National Railway Museum, Jorvik Viking Centre or just exploring the medieval cobbled shopping area. Beach 750 yards. Shop 500 yards, pub and restaurant 250 yards.

A lovely modern apartment in a quiet setting. Very comfortable bed and well equipped. We didn't get the welcome pack other guests had mentioned but that is my only quibble.

The appartment was very clean and comfortable just like home from home, and near enough to stroll into town without having to drive. Having an allotted parking space a real bonus and a much appreciated welcome pack. Plenty of things to do and visit in and around the area. A great holiday place, highly recommend whitehall 1 to anyone thinking of staying there.

Very nice little 1 bed flat. Extremely clean. Right by the River and half a mile into the town centre. Minor quibbles are that the hot water tank is small, and doesn't hold enough water for one really hot bath. No washing machine, (although none advertised so that is fair enough). Living area reasonable size and comfortable.

Really good location, very quiet and very well kept. It is within easy access to Whitby itself (5-10 minutes walk away, depending on how fast you walk) and the parking space is adjacent to the flat. I would recommend this accommodation to anyone.
