This is a delightful cottage in a beautiful, remote spot in the Peak District. The owner, who lives in the farmhouse next door, is very hospitable and friendly. It's comfortable and well-equipped but note there is no dishwasher. The wifi is relayed from next door but it did work ok. Definitely recommended for walking and for a quiet break away from it all.

This was a great to stay for me and my elderly parents. The cottage is great, with a double bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor. This is why I booked. There is enough room for six adults. I loved it. Only snags being only one shower downstairs, no mobile signal ( not a bad thing in my mind ) , but if you do need to get in touch with anyone, you have to drive to the main road. The pub menu looks great, however, walking would take a while. The owners were lovely. They showed us how to work the tv and dvd. It only takes 15 minutes to drive and park up in Buxton. If you want a quiet hideaway, then look no further. Everything provided including salt and pepper. Would suit anybody who wants to get away from it all. Loads of walking. We saw a lunar eclipse. The only noise is from the sheep in the fields. If you want peace and quiet, then visit this lovely cottage. Only built 7 years ago. All you need to bring is food and booze. Will definitely come back here. Thank you to the owners. It’s on a working farm. Sorry we didn’t get chance to say goodbye. We really enjoyed our stay.

The cottage itself is very comfortable, warm, plenty of hot water with lovely bath and shower rooms, and very clean. We were very happy with the cottage, yet feel we were misinformed about the motorbike trial practices that took place at the top of the cottage drive, very close to the cottage, every day during our week. We were not told about the motorbikes on the website at all; the nearby “Hawks Nest Trail ground” (trail, not trial) is mentioned in the website, which we now know refers to the motorbikes, whereas we thought this was a nature trail. The spelling is incorrect. Also, the owners farmhouse is very close to the cottage yet not shown on the website photo at all, and unfortunately this is very untidy indeed and the view from 2 of the cottage windows look directly at the farmhouse only. This is depressing. The farmhouse is seen from the gardens too. We understood the cottage to be on its own, in an idyllic quiet and picturesque location. There were lovely views to the back and other side of the cottage. If the cottage was to be in a peaceful and beautiful location all around, we would return. The final part of driveway t9 the cottage was very rough, and may be difficult for some vehicles. We can send you photos if you wish. We hope this is helpful to you, and to the owners, whose daughter we met and she was very helpful.
