A wonderful week in a fantastic home away from home. The cottage is much larger than the photographs show and the back garden area is great... unfortunately the weather wasn't the best so we didn't really use it. Local pubs and restaurants were great and the local post office / shop is just 2 minutes walk away. Beautiful area and one which we will come back to!

A very pretty cottage in a sleepy village. Lots of room and ideal for the elderly or infirm , being all on one level. Lovely and quiet. The toiletries and bathrobes provided were a nice touch. Go to nearby Bellingham for anything other than the basics , i.e milk and bread, although there is a good butcher's shop which sells locally produced artisan sausages etc. Excellent local pub/restaurant- Battlesteads. Made an ideal base for exploring the area. Nearest beach is Whitley Bay , a one and a half hour drive along picturesque country lanes. Lots of historical Roman sites to see , as well as stunning walks along Hadrian's wall , among others. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Lovely spacious cottage with literally everything provided. Enclosed garden with barbeque and table & chairs for balmy evenings. Great selection of games for the kids and very well equipped kitchen with every labour saving appliance. More than enough space for 3 adults and 2 children. Cosy on the chilliest evening we enjoyed lighting the log burner a few evenings. With a shower room and a seperate bathroom with roll top bath very welcome for a party of 5. Bedrooms were lovely and the 4 poster bed has to be the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in anywhere!
