With a large dining table, gas fire, plenty of easy seating and a large Smart TV, it’s ideal for a movie night or a family games night. The kitchen comes well-equipped with everything you need for your self-catering holiday, with fridge, freezer, hob, oven, and microwave, plus you have a washing machine and dishwasher too. The bathroom features a good-sized shower cubicle and heated towel rail. Access to the property is via a small rear yard, but at the front of the property is a large patio and summerhouse with garden furniture and it is a real suntrap, perfect for alfresco dining or just soaking up the sun with a nice glass of wine or a morning coffee.
Fletchertown is a small village to the North of the Lake District National Park, made up of a few rows of what were miners’ cottages who worked at the local coal mine. The abandoned mine and its spoil remain known locally as ‘Pit Bank’. Winnie was the name of the lady who lived in the cottage back in the mining days. From here, you can discover the beauty of the National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, the charming little villages and country pubs and bustling towns like Keswick.
You’re just a short drive from Allonby Beach on The Solway firth, with views to the Scottish Lowlands of Dumfries and Galloway. If you love the outdoors, you’re a short drive from Bassenthwaite Lake with a wildlife park, distillery and Alpaca walks. Cockermouth and Keswick can be easily reached with an abundance of bars, shops restaurants and pubs. Not to mention the lakes and fells. Beach 10 miles. Pub and restaurant 3¾ miles.
