The cottage oozes charm and character where guests can fully immerse themselves in country living, with features like the Aga in the kitchen, wooden beams, exposed brickwork, and an incredible woodburner in the living room where you can snuggle up in front of on those colder evenings. Woodpecker Cottage offers both friends and families a fantastic holiday retreat whilst being ideally located to explore the surrounding area.

On the same floor you also have a twin bedroom and delightful family bathroom which is equipped with a shower over the bath. On the ground floor there is the very comfortable living area with a large fireplace, woodburner and Smart TV giving a great place to relax after a day exploring. Woodpecker Cottage presents a gorgeous country style kitchen which is fully equipped for all your culinary needs along with an Aga. The enclosed garden/patio is separate from the cottage and is an ideal place to sit out, take in the views, fire up the barbecue and have a drink alfresco style in the summer sun.
Bretton Estate is home to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park which is within walking distance from Woodpecker Cottage and is a great place to spend the day with family. The Cottage is also well placed for many attractions close by, The National Coal Mining Museum, Pugneys Country Park, Canon Hall Country Park and the spectacular Peak district which is full of scenic walks and cycling routes. Leeds is also just a short drive away which is packed full of shops, cafés, restaurants and pubs or if you wanted to leave the driving for another day there are plenty of scenic walks right on the cottage’s doorstep. The only issue you will find with this retreat is trying to fit everything in so why not book an extra couple of days!
