For a more leisurely treat take a visit to the Loch Arthur Farm Shop at Beeswing, just a mile away where you can enjoy lunch and perhaps buy their award-winning cheeses.
The Royal Burgh town of Dumfries is a short drive away where there are many shops, pubs and restaurants, or the smaller market town of Castle Douglas, known as the Food Town, where there are an excellent selection of foodie shops as well as some delightful little niche shops. A visit to this glorious area is not complete without a trip to the Galloway Forest Park, the UK’s largest, where there are hidden waterfalls, mountains, wildlife, and lochs and on a clear night it’s one of the best places in the western world to view the stars.
