Richard the owner was very welcoming and gave us a very good knowledgeable talk about the workings of the barn eg the workings of the T V and the Stove. Altogether the week in this delightful and comfortable barn was very enjoyable.

Zoes barn is detached, not overlooked and 9 miles (to Morpeth) for any real services. For people looking for a quiet and relaxing break in a countryside setting, Zoes Barn is perfect! Making a stop at a supermarket on the way there however was vital as there was no 'popping out' for a pint of milk etc on arrival. The barn conversion was beautifully done and felt spacious and light and we felt instantly at home. The field and barn are enclosed and so therefore dog friendly and dog bowls and blankets were also supplied if needed. There is no barrier between the bull and the garden (other than the retaining wall) and this was not a problem for us as our dogs were not interested enough in the bull to worry about letting them off the lead in the garden. The bull also seemed to be sensible enough to spend most of the day at the other end of the field only approaching the barn late into the evenings and he certainly seemed very wary of people, moving away from us when we got too close trying to take a photo etc! The bull was reported by the owner to be extremely old so this may not be an issue for people much longer anyway but thought it worth mentioning for dog owners. We had no issues with the heating or hot water whilst we were there and the owner lived at the opposite end of the village and stated that he was very happy to be contacted at any time if any issues occurred. There is no mobile phone signal whatsoever on EE or Vodafone but the wifi was excellent so this was not a problem. There is also a landline available. In summary, we had a wonderful stay and found the location perfect for exploring Northumberland. We would like to go back again at another time of year and whilst not perfect, the niggles were so small that we would definitely recommend Zoes Barn for future guests.

Lovely barn with wonderful welcome from Richard the owner. Do not stay here if you don't like peace and quiet and superb views of the country. Do stay here if you really want to get away from it all. Fantastic for our dog with loads of local walks. Richard is very generous with his time and knowledge and really helped us make the most if our holiday. We will definitely go again.

Lovely cottage in beautiful location with very rural views. Lots of wildlife with wood-peckers, nuthatch and green finches to entertain on the bird feeders. Indoors a real wood burner to revive childhood memories of coal fires.

A lovely cottage in a very peaceful and restful situation. Very friendly and helpful owner who couldn't do enough to please. Very generous fuel provision for our winter visit meaning that off-grid electricity was no problem at all. Entertainment by the birds was wonderful!

Great little barn in the very rural centre of Northumberland. Wonderful walks and about 25 miles to the Craster coast area. Morpeth nearby for good shopping. Living off grid is a good experience and we remained toasty warm even in January! Recommended for those that like peace and quiet.

We felt very lucky to stay in such a unique and comfortable cottage. Our host could not have been nicer, making us feel like old friends rather than customers.
