We were a bit worried as we'd seen a bad review on here, which turned out to be completely unwarranted. We took our two kids, two and three years old, and a right handful. The caravan was nice and had all the facilities we needed. Space was tight, but we got by. Ideally situated for days out, we did Bridlington, Flamborough Head, Hornsea, little beach down the road, Sewerby Park. There's a supermarket 10 minutes away, and quite a few things to do in Hornsea, including a soft play centre called Beach Cove with a nice café.
The World Cup was on, and I had the pleasure of meeting some of the locals and the landlord and landlady in the Cross Keys pub. We ate in their on one occasion, and the other time they organised a take out meal, which I carried just 50 yards or so and we enjoyed in the caravan. The pub was lovely, everyone enjoyed it in there, and the landlord, landlady and the locals are very nice people.
The park itself is 50 yards behind the pub, really quiet spot out in the sticks, and five minutes walk to the main park. The main park has a well stocked shop, a laundry, and a café. The clubhouse has recently been refurbished to a very high standard, and has all the sports on massive screens, two pool tables, and a soft play centre for small kiddies such as ours. There's also a good outdoor play park on site as well.
It's in a great spot for going to see this part of the Yorkshire Coast, great value, the locals are very warm people, and the landlord and landlady are lovely. The food is good pub grub, I sampled a few gins there, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Wouldn't hesitate to return to this base for our next visit to this lovely part of the country.
