We had a super stay at Bank Top Cottage over the New Year. The cottage was very spacious and comfortable for the two of us plus our two dogs, with a little garden to the front. The cottage was nice and warm even when we had snow and high winds during our stay- the woodburner being nice and cosy in the evenings. Plenty of space in adjacent fields to exercise our dogs too and they also enjoyed playing in the snow! The farm dogs were friendly and came to say hello. Bank Top Cottage is perfectly situated very close to the New Inn Cropton with it's excellent brewery and is just a short drive to the centre of Pickering for shops etc. There is also a well stocked garage half way between Pickering and the cottage less than 5 mins drive away. We had a really lazy relaxing break, but the cottage is well situated if you want to explore further afield. We had a day out on the North York Moors Railway, visited Pickering, Helmsley, Rosedale, Hutton Le Hole and drove up to the Lion Inn at Blakey Ridge. If the weather had been better we would have headed across to the coast too. All round a great base for exploring the North York Moors and we came home feeling really relaxed.

Hoseasons need to learn what "TOTAL COST" means. Had to pay extra when arrived. Cottage was OK but not sure about freezer and microwave in the toilet. Warm enough if the fire stoked up. Could do with net curtains in the bathroom and bedroom. Clear glass not a good idea. Food in pub good but expensive. Take a torch as it is dark on the driveway. The owner was friendly and helpful. One issue is that it is a dog friendly place, therefore there is an aroma of dogs all over the cottage

This cottage ticked most of the boxes! ideal location for all surrounding area. No village shop but good pub within walking distance and Pickering 10mins away. The cottage was spacious and quiet would definitely consider re-booking if returning to the area.

Excellent cottage, great pub with its own brewery next door. Mike the owner was always very friendly and helpful. Many good walks near by. A small village shop close by would be an improvement to the location.

Our first time on holiday with our dog in a cottage. Very enjoyable experience in a nice cottage with a good village pub on the doorstep which allows dogs into the bar. What more could you ask for? May be better weather would have made it a 10 out of 10 experience.
